The only way I could think of to 'kill' (within the context of the DC comic universe) Lobo is to do what was done to Doomsday; leaving him at the enthropic state of the universe using time travel. Maybe the Spectre or Lucifer, but I don't think any mortal and even most of the 'immortal' magic users, like Etrigan or Wizard Shazam, could actually kill Lobo. Phantom Stranger is whatever, I guess, so maybe him and maybe Nekron? Could just freeze him outside of time, but that's not really death. Lobo's to bad ass to die Rob! He's the main man!

The closest lobos ever come to dying was when aliens ground him into powder and spread it through space. The powder ended up getting up peoples noses and killing them. Lobo issue 54. Also Lobo can't create duplicates after Vril Dox neutered him in L.E.G.I.O.N. One of the greatest series ever made. GORGEOUS!! Zatanna actually did well against Lobo, if she hadn't been in hell when they fought, she mighta' won. Pretty cheap though and eventually we know he would have killed her. Is he parody character? Hmm...well maybe at first but when he's in L.E.G.I.O.N. he doesn't use guns and is more normalized. When he's in his solo comics, that's where things get silly. You know I wouldn't make a video about killing Lobo...just because he literally murders everyone around him. If a mirror universe opened up on our planet...he'd be able to track you pretty quick. You didn't mention how you would actually do it, that was a good move. The only thing that will save your life against Lobo, which is what I recommend instead of attempting to kill him......as he's about to pummel you to bits, tell him you have a job for him...and pray your rich!!

Actually for some of the points: Mxyzptylk can not do it. He had issues with even working magic on Superman Prime, who tortured him, imprisoned him as he was a unique entity for any existence, beyond Mxyzptylk's magic. Zatanna or Fate could not do it. At best, Zatanna could only slow him down and that too for a bit, before Lobo was able to break the magic wall down and unfreeze himself. Bottom line: You can't kill Lobo, unless Lobo wants to off himself. He probably knows the way to do it, as he did his entire race.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Darkseid's omega beams can pluck people out of existence. He's done it to some people in comics such as Dessad who he's used his Omega beams on often. A quick run down of the omega beams and how they operate is that they can be used to erase beings from existence and bring them back. Lobo although amazingly resilient is a physical being with non energy based powers and would not have protection from the beams. Being that he is being erased and not destroyed or maimed physically his regenerative powers or banishment from the after life would not come into play.

As someone who used to run a Lobo fan page and podcast and owns (roughly) 400 or more issues with the Main Man in them, I'm impressed with your strategy. I would like to say, Vril Dox neutralized his cloning ability within the first 10 issues of Legion and I don't have a reference on hand, but I'm positive Lobo's only physical weakness is poison gas. Since Lobo's word is something he never goes against, my strategy would be to use the Riddler or a character with extreme skills in conversation and psychology to get Lobo to agree to kill himself.

So even if you completely atomize Lobo, his soul will still remain in a ghostly form and he can possess another living thing and morph it onto the form of his original body. I guess one method is to have some powerful magic user keep his soul contained or imprisoned as soon as his body is destroyed so that he can't go off and use another living thing to make a now living body for himself.

When it comes to a meta-human or super-human/alien entity that can be physically harmed but not outright killed, containment is of course the first option. Capturing is the hard part, but once captured, cut off his arms, put braces on the stubs to make it difficult to regrow, [preferably, reduce him to a small cellular mass, like a finger or single cell] while sealing him in an air and water tight tomb made of not only the strongest materials, but moreso a weave of the strongest materials. Given he can form new Lobo's from a drop of blood, the air and water tight measure is a MUST! I can see him breaking himself out or just going on his way by bleeding out. As long as he has a body for his soul to cling onto, or the tomb has magic that keeps his aethereal bits inside the case, he should be pretty secure.

I fact the Great Darkness Sage in Legion of Superheroes must now be one of most neglected, "great," story lines in comics and might be good topic for another one of your thoroughly enjoyable rambles, I still remember it coming out and every month I couldn't wait for next issue to come out and nor in the end did it disappoint, (again contrast that with all the pompous and pretentious New 52 drivel,) the ultimate climax was awesome, coherent and completely sensible, (without a single maguffin, well almost.) In fiction, a MacGuffin (sometimes McGuffin or maguffin) is a plot device in the form of some goal, desired object, or other motivator that the protagonist pursues, often with little or no narrative explanation. The only thing I can think of to get rid of lobo is to put him in a place where a bit of his body will always exist but his healing factor can't keep up with, like a black hole.

One thing you missed, the making an army with drops of blood, supposedly is not available anymore. There was a comic series (late 80's to early 90's), where Lobo was teamed with a group (Legion) and the leader (Vril Dox), gave him a drink that was spiked with something that stopped that. Now he can still heal, He just can't create more of himself. This supposedly happened after they tried to make an army, but it was uncontrollable i think. Been so long i almost forgot about it, One of the clones survived and Lobo had to fight him, he (the clone) could replicate himself

With abilities like that, I would refer you to the SCP destruction attempts log for SCP-682: You throw a bunch of hilariously powerful and awesome things at him, you get equally hilarious and awesome results, lots of people are killed, none of who are the person you're trying to kill, and you end up with a lot of knowledge you wish you didn't know about who you're trying to kill.

Etrigan is to Lobo what Cable is to Deadpool

during the our Worlds at War event Lobo who have been reduced to a child form and a previous event was turned into a smattering of Blood on the surface of Apocalypse. From that blood through a horde of super fast growing Lobos that essentially became adults and rampaged over apocalypse. One of the Lobos the one that had basically hair to all the traits of being redeemed into a decent / halfway normal person with superpowers was stuck in his kids / teenage State and remain that way as a part of Young Justice until young justice hit 2 try to fight dark side. That version of Darkseid used his Omega sanction to not only her Lobo into a statue but transport him through time and space to where he learned up in the Young Justice 1 million Trophy Room. his soul was still inside the Statue as we can see him thinking and that comic.

Oh, and Rob (ComicsExplained) when I was into RPG's a long, long time ago with pen and paper, I was inspired to create a villian like Lobo. His powers inconsistant, almost specifically to challenge said challenger. After several gaming sessions, my regular players (exceptionally intelligent, mind you) figured it out. My Lobo clone had the ability to rapidly escilate his abilities upon being consciously recognized by sentient beings that he interacts with. That enhancement ability cooled far slower than it escilated. When my players figured it out, they avoided Lobo clone like the plague for a long time. When they finally encountered Lobo clone again, they avoided even the banter all together and killed him good (not easy, Lobo clone killed some of their allies and contacts who were powerful). Lobo clone could have had the same backstory as Lobo, killing everyone on his whole planet, with that ability.

Since lobo has a soul, can’t ghost rider use his penance stare to kill him? He probably doesn’t regret anything but it also burns the body with hellfire so wouldn’t the hellfire disintegrate lobo body so nothing comes back?

I don't think that that would work either. Seeing as how I like if he kind of broke out of heaven and hell and he actually beat up a lot of demons that you mentioned. They could hold his spirit I mean maybe for small time but eventually the main man would break out. I also think it would be really awesome if you did the cover of Lobo versus The Mask I always thought that was a great story. I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
