This video was exactly what I needed. I’m knitting a kimono cardigan with a one color linen stitch border and then the body is a simple 8-row repeat two-color checkered mosaic pattern. I plan to use your neat edge technique with the mosaic colors. Woohoo! Many thanks.

Okay, but ... it's not working when I don't change colours! Looking at the work from RS, the left edge braid appears. That's the edge that is formed by knitting the last stitch on the RS, turning, and slipping the first stitch purlwise with yarn in front and then purling the following stitch normally. Fine! But the other end .... it doesn't work if I follow your directions. Starting the RS row, you say '*with yarn in front* slip first stitch purlwise. Then take the yarn through to the back between the needles and proceed to knit the next stitch. This may work if you're bringing in a colour change. But where you're not, slipping purlwise yarn in front and then passing the working yarn through to the back ... effectively wraps the working yarn over your pretty braid and gives you a very tight edge to boot. So .... I think there's a footnote needed to your helpful video: if you're NOT managing a colour change at the end of a WS/beginning of a RS row, then purl your last stitch. Turn the work to RS. Let the yarn stay at the back as you slip the first stitch purlwise, then with yarn still at back, knit the next stitch normally. There's your braid.
