Linen stitch on straight needles has an intermediate row between which is straight purl , I was surprised that the next row was the same stitch pattern slipping first , I need to try this I think before I start a project using it

Hi :) Thank you so much for your tutorial and your advices. Your colors are stunning too. I tried a sample of this stitch with a cable cast on, but I can't find a way to bind it off with a mirrored aspect. Yours would be very nice, can you tell me what technique you used. All the best :)

Hi! I struggled with finding the right bind-off for this as well when I was designing it. Here is what I settled on: k1, sl1 pwise wyib, lift 1st st on RN over 2nd st, *k1, lift 1st st on RN over 2nd st, sl1 pwise wyib, lift 1st st on RN over 2nd st; rep from * until 1 st remains on RN. Cut yarn and pull tail through last stitch. I hope that might help!

Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial. I'm curious to know if there is any reason why you would only need an odd number cast on for this? Could you not do an even number and get the same pattern by changing the sequence of the knit and slips on the 2nd row as you did with the odd number?

Hi! The reason for the odd number when working in the round is just so that you have a more continuous pattern. For example, with an odd number, your last stitch on round 1 is a k1, and then the first stitch on a round 2 is a sl 1. If it was an even number, then the stitch you end with would be the same as the stitch you start with on the next round. It wouldn't be too obvious visually, but that's just the reason for it. @@ElizabethSmithKnits Ah yes that makes a lot of sense thank you. Sorry, in hindsight that looks a bit obvious now but I was genuinely wondering why an odd numbered cast on would be needed when I was watching this. Thank you for explaining it so clearly.
