How To Knit Linen Stitch
Linen stitch gives an interesting weave effect to a stocking stitch. We'll use the 'slip stitch' to create the weave and knit and purl stitches in-between.
Today's video will give full tutorial on how you switch between slipping and knitting or purling on the two rows of the pattern.

Love how pretty this stitch is, especially the half linen. It would look fab in a oatmeal colour as makeup remover pads. And a few of them with a nice fancy soap would make a great gift. 😊

Hello, I just saw your video, love it! Could you explain how to measure the gauge please? I’ve seen patterns with gauge measurement in linen stitch, and I’m wondering how to do that. Thank you in advance :)

Half Linen stitch is alternating the slip stitch rows with knit or purl rows (depending on whether you’re knitting flat or in the round.) I’m not doing as many tutorial videos right now, but will add it to my list for maybe next year. Happy knitting 🧶

Really like the half linen stitch. Might have to make up some coasters with that. Will it work with DK or is that likely to be too small to see properly?

I've made up some DK coasters in half-linen stitch. We used them a lot during lockdown and I mix them up with others now too. Happy knitting 🧶

Hello Hannah, I love your channel. Do you have any suggestions for selling hand spun yarn? Both my daughter and I are spinners as well as knitters. It was just a crazy thought we had. I knew you would be the one to ask. We have searched but neither of us have found hand spun for sale except on etsy and it seems very cheap on there, like I don't know how they afford the wool at those prices.

Hi, that sounds amazing. I would suggest starting to find other spinners on Instagram as you’ll find like-minded small businesses who will be selling for prices that reflect the work that goes into the finished yarn. A very simple website might be your answer or supplying other yarn stores. Build up a profile in IG too, and share the process and choices you make as you create your yarns. Happy spinning! 😀

It really will depend on the pattern that you're following. 🧶

How many stitches do you need to do this pattern?

The pattern will usually tell you, I think I was knitting with uneven number, so to start and finish on the same stitch. (Watch the video again to double check) Happy knitting 🧶
