He made that look mad easy, props for this video you can tell he’s that fisherman that does your nut in on a pool though, wins the match and then bags the prize fish while you pack away😂

Nice going, I want to try and get some pole fishing done in late spring / summer for some skimmers + tench at my local.

Tried your method, couldn't believe how well it worked. Fished Larford yesterday was bagging some big carp (8-12lb) down the edge later on. Taking around 5 minutes each to land, remembered seeing you video, tried it and was landing them in seconds 😮👍. You have to be on it with your netting though, as you said you only get one chance, I lost a couple when they shot off after missing them with the net and couldn't add sections fast enough 😂. I think this could make a big difference in the last hour of a match when catching down the edge. Thanks for the advice 👍👍

Hi Sam, I watched this yesterday and tried it today. I must say i was a bit wary for the first fish but flipping eck it worked a treat. I fished at about 7m, managed to hook 5 carp to about 10lb and each one was landed before it knew what was happening, not one lost. Certainly added a new technique to my fishing. Thanks.

Very impressive ,, but no keep-nets or foot / rod support etc in front !! In match conditions, "Three Nets " all needing support bars in front ! ( Bank sticks cannot be pushed into the ground on most fisheries, ground like concrete ! ) I can see problems ! but I will try it .. How do you go on with a twelve pounder in the tail ! and how many pull off ??

@sambrownfishing11066 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, im glad you enjoyed the video. The landing net head is the Maver Oval carp landing net head, the design might of changed since but if you shop around you can find that one

hi sam are you shipping back in a straight line to the top kit then lifting it up sharply i seem to be geting big fish down the edge but there giving me the runaround
@sambrownfishing11067 жыл бұрын
Fish pull against whatever direction you are pulling at, so you need to use this to your advantage, keep your pole very low too the water when ever pulling, this means they won't pull down but sideways and naturally stay high up in the water. So when you get down too your topkit keep it low too the water and keep pulling the elastic out the side pulla, bringing the fish closer. When it's in netting range it will be high up in the water, so a sharp lift up should bring it straight too the top. If you miss it, just repeat and try again

What witchcraft is this???? Very impressive. I keep getting smashed off. Looks like I'm messing around playing the fish waiting for them to tire out, need to up my line to 0.18 from 0.15 I think.

what do u think of the maver retro 12-20 elastic compared to the 12-15 ?
@sambrownfishing11067 жыл бұрын
In my opinion the 12-20 is more for smaller carp up to 6lb or even winter carp fishing as its a lot softer, where as the 12-15 gives you better control over bigger fish as seen in the video. For summer carping id choose 12-15 every time
@carolmurray72556 жыл бұрын
As you say about nets....would a 42" carp net be going over the top...I was told the bigger the better with landing nets.
@sambrownfishing11066 жыл бұрын
That would be a bit too big and heavy, it wouldn't be very easy to maneuver through the water and lift up quickly, the net i was using is 55cm x 60cm and is plenty big enough and with large mesh to make it easier to scoop through the water

what terminal tackle and elastic are u using ?
@sambrownfishing11067 жыл бұрын
Line: 0.18mm (8lb). Elastic: Maver Hollow 12-15 rating. Hook: Maver MT5 size 16. I use this set up all summer for big fish margin fishing.

I think his is the Maver Reality but I think for this type of fishing I would highly recommend the Daiwa Airity, it's an incredible piece of kit. Changed my match fishing beyond belief.
@richardbarrett75444 жыл бұрын
Sam. I know its skilful, but where is the fun part of fishing gone? I love the run of a carp, not knocking you at all as I expect you're probebly a match angler. But when you watch Rob Wootton he says he takes is time landing every carp he hooks? Anyway great video and something to learn.
@sambrownfishing11064 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, depends how you look at it, in a match it makes all the difference but you wouldn't need to do this pleasure fishing. For me the longer you have that carp hooked the more adrenaline and probably stress it's under, the quicker it's in the net the better for the fish overall and you can admire your catch.

How do you strip the line from your pole
@sambrownfishing11064 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan, it's not line its elastic. You can get top sections for your pole where a slot is made in the side and this allows you to pull elastic out, this makes it tighter so theres less for the fish to pull back on

If a specimen Carp angler (Bivy Bunny) hooks the same fish 90 metres away and drags it in.... It's a tiddler to them!!! In a match against the best of the best, I'd happily catch 20 of their tiddlers and haul them in.... My guess is Sam Brown regrets making this upload.
