Veronika Mark certainly has her share of language-learning experience. She speaks Russian, English, Chinese, and Spanish, and has lived in various cities. I was so grateful to be able to hear her story of moving to Mexico City knowing very little Spanish, and learning the language from scratch in order to become completely immersed in the culture. She specializes in lifestyle and shares her best tips for blocking out your language routine according to your energy levels throughout the day. 👋 Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

I love that she concentrated so much on accents but I really love it when people learn English and keep the accent from their native language. It just sounds so absolutely beautiful!

@@_Wynona This is a really sweet comment! Thank you so much! You're not wrong, people should concentrate on the accent, but I just don't want them to completely lose their native accent. I just love when people speak English where you can kind of get an idea of where they come from. I just feel like when they speak English perfectly it kind of takes away from their exoticness or as if they're losing a little bit of their cultures.

You said exactly what I was thinking!! In the USA many of us love foreign accents. I live in México now, and I wondered if people here feel the same way. I'll have to ask around, in Spanish, of course! :)

Regarding the 8 hours, I actually had this much time per day to study Spanish when I was a high school student during the pandemic. I usually just did 1 or 2 30 minute lessons of Pimsleur or Assimil, and I would spend the rest of the time either watching content with subtitles, chatting on discord with natives, or listening to salsa (with lyrics of course). This ended up working pretty well for me, but I can't really do that these days when I'm learning Polish, because I don't have nearly as much time.
