HOW TO LIGHT SHORE JIGGING - Easy to follow TUTORIAL
Light shore jigging tutorial
I finally had the chance to do this for you guys. A very simple video on how to go light shore jigging. Light Shore Jigging is my passion within my passion. There is something about catching something nice from shore - the set of challenges you face is quite different from when you jig on a boat - especially when you are using very light gear such as what I used in this video. There are a lot of light shore jigging tips in this video and this will help you start light shore jigging, or reinforce some things for those that are already light shore jigging, but are not sure about things. On this video, I discuss what to look for in a light shore jigging rod, light shore jigging reel and line. Why it is important for your light shore jigging set up to be as lightweight as possible and a lot of other tips.
Anyway, I hope you guys pick a few things up from this video - enjoy.

Great info. Thank you. 😊 Do you think people need to use a slow action rod with a soft tip to give the best action of the jig or any rod maybe used?
@TheFishingKit
@TheFishingKit Жыл бұрын
There are specific shore jigging rods you can buy from a lot of japanese manufacturers for this type of fishing. They are quite different from "normal" long rod with a soft tip. These shore jigging rods are also good for working stickbaits by the way.

Just got into shore jigging , thanks! I got saltiga 20 ounce sk slow jig came with 2 assist already on bottom , should I separate one or switch both to front of jig? By the eyes? And if not , should I remove the top split ring and tie snap swivel directly to eye or tie snap swivel to split ring ? Please advise 🙏so if I don't put assist hook at top , should I get rid of that split ring the saltiga came with or tie snap to split ring with no hook there ( leave both hooks in back )?

Can you recommend a heavier set up from penn abu Garcia or ugly stick for shore jigging ( I get a discount on those brands )
@TheFishingKit
@TheFishingKit Жыл бұрын
If you want pure fishing products, you have to look at the Japanes Range (buy from Japan) as the Abu Garcia sold there is totally different from what you get in the US. There are rods you can sort of use, but they don't really work the same way. Reels, you can get away with almost any model - just as long as it is light in weight and is fast enough (XG equivalent - look at the line it brings in, not the ratio). Shore jigging rods are hard to come by in the US, from "tradition" US brands.

Hi, thank u for the video. I know u mentioned about using XG to help reeling in the slack after casting. But is XG (~90 to 100+cm per crank), HG (~80 to 90+), standard (~80) or PG (~70) more suitable for shore jigging in terms of imparting action to the jigs? I heard some saying HG is preferred to reel enough line to give the jig lively action when working it up, but not XG so that there is slack in the line (to let the jig flutter i think). PG is not good because it does not reel in enough to give action to the jig. What’s your thoughts in this? Thanks in advanced 😊 (ps: the cm per crank is just an estimate)
@TheFishingKit
@TheFishingKit Жыл бұрын
Lester you cant really effectively move your lure when your line isnt tight to the lure. It will take fewer winds with an xg to come tight than with an HG, will take forever to recover line with a PG. dont take what you see with your eyes as just the amount of slack you need to recover. Braid floats so you still have a lot of slack in the water between the surface and the jig . Unless that gets recovered as well your jig wont move. Having said that, it doesnt mean you cant effectively jig with an HG, you can - biggest difference is you maintain contact with your jig more with an xg than with an HG. As I said in the video, you are dealing with long casts with shore jigging - you need a reel to be able to get the lure in fast so you can get your lure out again faster, you just have efficiency on your side with an xg then with an hg.

@@elricofmelnibone6301 3-4m isn't deep. 7 g should 0.06mm braid isn't thin enough, it's actually quite thick about 4.5kg breaking strain, so you are not only casting quite close, but your braid is too thick for your use. look for braid that would be around 2kg breaking strain.

You dont use swivels/snap swivels? Does it matter if u dont mind to explain 4:41
@TheFishingKit
@TheFishingKit 7 ай бұрын
Firstly, I don't use snaps - I like fishing with very little hardware and weak points in my system. If you put a swivel, its added weight and it doesn't really add anything to the system except for a point for toothy fish to target - snaps are potential weak points - it could open - in my whole system I only have two potential issue points - my FG and my knot to the jig.
