Its amazing how much your body changes as we age. Losing weight feels like it gets harder as we get older. The biggest thing that helped was getting more sleep. I really noticed a huge difference after I started to get 8 hours

It's easier for me to reduce sugar( serious sweet tooth) by reducing starchy foods first. Then I don't crave the sugar. Strange, but it works🙂

Super good info! I find that 1 hr of walking in the evening totally does the trick for me, believe it or not! Lower intensity work outs have been really helpful.

I fear I've learned there may not be much I can do. I weigh less than I did in high school, a little over 50 years ago, but I carried the weight then better. I have MS and drop foot so, activity is difficult. I've been losing weight, but the old belly is going away much, and I can't lose too much more. I'll try losing a little more weight and somehow be a little more active. Thanks for the informative video. I'll look at some more you have.

Tips: Women struggle more than men in losing fat. Reduce your calories intake. Quality over quantity. Reduce processed foods. Use app to monitor your calories. Get enough sleep: 7 to 9 hrs to optimise hormons. Reduce alcohol intake!!! Exercise with weights! Take fish oils, omega3. Drink Water, water, water!!!! Or tea / plain coffee. Increase activity level. Walking, cycling...

I love walking, hiking, climbing, and roller skating! I’m about to turn 51 and I am about 20 pounds “overweight “. I am really active as an archaeologist and I have used apps such as Fitness Pal periodically. This summer the app and my Apple Watch were telling me I was burning about 1700 active calories a day (digging 10 hours a day in the hot sun), and to eat about 3500 calories! but even with snacks and such I was only able to eat between 2000-2500 calories. I am a vegan. It took about 4 months to lose any weight and then I lost 4 lbs during the last month of that job. Now that I am at a MUCH less active job I have already gained back 2lbs. Help! I already follow all of your tips except for weight training. What else can I do?

I find those apps that measure calorie expenditure aren't very accurate (much like cardio machines at the gym!). They overestimate how many calories you're actually burning. I only use myfitnesspal with my clients to track what they're eating. It's hard to give you too much specific advice without assessing your full situation, but here are my thoughts based on what you've written here: I would start with weight training...it's more important than you might think! ;) You did mention that you're vegan and that often can complicate things. While I know some vegans are able get adequate nutrition (particularly protein), it requires a lot of additional planning and structure in your diet to get the balance right. Maybe you've got it covered...I don't know. Hopefully you've had your B12, iron, and vitamin D blood tests with your doctor. It's always wise to have your hormones checked with your doctor too, particularly as a woman in your 50s, to make sure that your levels are in the right range. P.S. Archeologist...that's awesome! :)

Thanks for the tips. I have a pretty good handle on my nutrition but I have not had my hormones checked. I feel very healthy, balanced and mellow despite starting menopause, but I will check with my doctor !

Would love a video like this about tips to get rid of fat on the upper outer thighs :-( Awful for us pear shaped women. It seems impossible for it to go.... But prob the same tips!!!!! Seems it doesn't want to budge even when eating 100% whole foods :-(

I do security and I walk 3 times a night for 45 minutes, play basketball once a week. I stop drinking beer, but I do some vodka shots.
