The reason we did the video was because the 2002 and 2003 engine are hard to come buy and cost more than a thousand dollars extra than a 2004 2005 or 2006 because they are hard to find.

I have a 2002 Liberty 3.7 and just got a 2004 3.7 engine... can you just change the tone wheel and Relucker ring crank shife from each other?....like just switch them from the each other....well it work that way too or do you have to get the kit?....

I have had some conflicting information about being able to swap a 2003 engine into a 2002 Liberty. Some say yes some say no. are the reluctor ring and the tone wheel the same for the 2002 and 2003?

Will a 2012 3.7 still work in a 2002 with this kit? I know I may have to tap some bosses, but will the change in cam and valve spring size cause any issues?

I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty v6 37.1 I change the water pump I change the spark plug it still won't stay cranked unless I keep my foot on the gas I took it to the mechanic shop to ask him to put a crankshaft on there he said it wasn't no need because the engine was gone is that true

just a little heads up to help a install go smoother. there is a collar in the flywheel side of the crank shaft you must remove to fit the earlier model years.

I have an 02 I bought new for the wife. Just turned over 30k miles on it because she doesn't use it a whole lot. My question is two fold. Is it a question of when this engine will blow not if? I mean is a new motor in my future if we keep this? If so and I decide on a remanufactured motor or your kit does this fix the problem that brought this about or do I yet again face it with the new one too? Thanks

Kevin. I have a 2002 3.7 Liberty 3.7 and the right cam wheel has jtec stamped on it. I also have a 3.7 from a 2003 Liberty and the right cam wheel is also stamped jtec. Does that mean that I can put the 2003 engine in the 2002 as is?

I done the motor swap but didn’t realize my original motor was ngc and the donor is jtec but it runs completely normal wit the ngc tone wheel and the jtec reluctor but won’t rev past 2400 and act like the crank sensor is bad I also have the proper reluctor ordered through airram

Yes that is correct a 2002 and 2003 are there own breed but they interchange as a long block with no problems.

It will bolt up they are the same . I have seen where people do not take out the pilot bearing for the clutch and therefore think it does not work .We have done many of these with no problems.

So would I need a crank position sensor and a cam position sensor for a 2006, 3.7 l engine? I've replaced my 2002 engine with a 2006 engine and it won't start. I've purchased and installed 2002 cam and crank sensors.

It is because there is a pilot bearing in the end of the crank. Take it out and you will be fine.

Ok but the crankshaft for 04 and up having a different diameter for the torque converter to match up to the flywheel

The cams are the same up to 2010.
