Tammy that is the best idea I have seen in a long time. I hate to pack cards away after Christmas or birthdays. I will definitely do this with some of my favorites and display them all year..

This is great, but here's how to do it without cutting the bottom piece so it fits. When I'm folding the top part (the part with the design) I don't fold quite all the way to the X. That makes the top a little bigger than the bottom. I learned this from my father, who was quite ingenious, so I don't know if this is just how he learned to do it, or if he figured out this trick on his own. It seemed no matter what we showed him how to do, he could think of a slightly easier/better way to do it. For example, Mom used to be worn out every year making Christmas cookies by herself, so Dad has us all work together "assembly line" style and we made twice as many in half the time. Dad was probably highly motivated because he loved his cookies... ;)

I know you wrote this 9 years ago, but as a father myself, I love this story and yes I'll speak for all dads out there. We love our cookies.

I can’t wait to make one of these. I have double sided scotch tape that I’ll use on the flaps and I’m thinking of using white card stock for the bottom of the box. Thank you for this video!

How simple and cute. I love to make envelopes and things like that. Not because I even mail that much, I don't even do holidays! But it's fun and relaxing to do and I am a cheapskate.

Tammy, you're a fantastic teacher! I've been making treat/favour box for family, friends, co-workers; also for when I teach Jr. Achievement to grade 8. I can now make a box out of any paper product...using greeting cards/thank you cards, pizza box, cereal box..........you taught me well....thank you for sharing. Since I don't have any fancy gadgets.....your method is simpler...faster....very easy.......you rock.

My grandma makes these! She always cuts hers square, so the design doesn't have to be printed centered. She also folds the X in the center, so she doesn't draw on the card. I have a shoebox full of cards I've received over the years. I eventually want to turn some of them into boxes too.
