I sure want to make works of art like these! I think I have the technique figured out. Have you ever done the underglaze or stain and then the clear glaze dipping on raw clay? I do hand building at home, and wheel throwing and glazing at a studio. I have to pay for each firing, so I am hoping to save a step. I understand that the gold is put on after the glaze firing (am I correct) amd then it is fired again. What gold do you use? I have never used it before. You work is beyond gorgeous!

Great questions - I don't apply colors or glaze to raw clay; I always prefer to bisque fire first. The gold is real gold - it's an overglaze applied after the glaze firing and then fired again in the kiln .

This is ceramic clay fired in a kiln - I mainly use stoneware and sometimes porcelain

These are ceramic stains and underglazes- these pigments can withstand the high temperature of the kiln The gold is real gold, applied after the glaze firing, and fired again in the kiln
