This is awesome!! I also have 2 weiner dogs and because of their long backs we dont let them jump on any furniture or even go up or down stairs. They love their soft beds and also like that extra cushion to use as a pillow so I think this design is absolutely perfect. They have a low part that they can climb on without jumping and a place to rest their heads. PERFECT!

Thanks for showing the kerf bending technique in this video. I didn’t make a dog bed, but instead took your technique and made a bike ramp for my two sons with some spare plywood I had in the garage. We are all getting a little stir-crazy, and it was a great project, and the boys love it! Thanks for the videos and tips!

Nice dog beds! Sometimes it is more satisfying just winging a project and see how it plays out. I made a chessboard with two drawers that way and it came out great. Plus it was fun just winging it. It was a gift for my parents and they loved it! They thought I bought it and were blown away when I told them I made it.

What a great design! I have mentioned my Dachshund, Toby to you before. He used to look like Wally, but now he's 20 years old and completely gray/white from his nose down past his front legs. We now call him "Paleface". He would love this bed.

Wonderful idea. Always wanted to do this myself for an outdoor relaxation lounge... great, now I know how. For clamping up on curved timber, I always use a yoga mat as padding. It grips the wood and prevents it bruising. I also would use thin yoga mat as strips on the wooden floor as it doesn’t tend to slide away, especially when the dogs jump onto the bed. The last thing you need is a displaced hip or knee on you lovely dogs. The felt would slide potentially causing this issue.

Great project! When making those kerf cuts, you should rotate your piece 180 degrees to get two cuts before moving the fence.

You might stitch velcro onto the bottom of the cushion and glue a few pads on the frame so that the pillows stay put.

Not weird for your dogs using pillows. My little rescue mutt LOVES pillows to lay on. when I take a nap I have to share my pillow with him, or when on the couch he always uses the pillows.
