The Modelo was probably not the best to start with haha. Looks good though. How did you mount it to the wall? I was thinking of using a router and keyhole bit on the backside. There are also sawtooth hangers, or single/double keyhole fittings? I feel like opening a bottle, especially if tipsy, needs a solid mounting point so hangers and keyhole fittings probably not the best. Sorry for the rambling, but id love to hear how you did it as well as if it has held up well over the years. Definitely got yourself a sub. Thanks man!

Unfortunately, the Modelo was the only beer I had on hand. I made two counterbored holes on the bottle opener. One on top and one on the bottom. Then just simple hardware screws into a stud. I completely agree that it should be secured to the wall with no movement. That's why I didn't opted for other hangars like you mentioned. Be sure to check out the short I made in response to your comment if you want to see how it's holding up.

Thanks for the clear demonstration! Was the diameter of the magnet and the diameter of the Forstner bit identical, or was the bit slightly larger than the magnet?

I made the bottle openers 12 inches long. As far as the location for the magnet, I placed it in the center of the distance from the bottle opener and the bottom of the board. Not really any scientific reasoning, it was just an easy way to do it. I might just make an update video for this after reading your comment. Thank you for the inspiration!

@Mrwolfpack85 Awesome idea! You can always adjust the depth of your he hole you drill for the magnet based on how far your carved image goes into the wood. You would be surprised how strong those magnets are. I’m sure you will have no problem figuring that out.

Hi, could you tell me what you sealed it with? I did one and painted a logo on it but when I sealed it, I didnt look to good. I used polycrylic in a satin finish but it made it way to glossy.

Thanks for the question. I used the satin polyurethane from Varathayne. I think it has the right level of sheen. When I have used polycrylic it seems like the sheen is more glossy than that of polyurethane. Varathayne also has a matte polyurethane that is really nice as well.

Okay, so extremally late response! My apologies, I just now came across your comment as I am updating information on my channel.
