My brother from far across the seas this is a most amazing video and it speaks of sooo much love and care and the gift of sharing. Thank you for much for posting this. I met some Samoans while teaching in South Korea and they were the sweetest and most amazing fellows a man can wish to meet. Blessings D from a cold and rainy Cape Town - South Africa 💖💖💖

My best memory of visiting my family in the Islands is my uncles preparing an umu. I swear pork cooked this way is the best in the world - and thats compared to Michelin restaurants I've visited around Europe.

Growing up with my grandpa he was a really harsh man about doing a umu the right way a lot of Samoans start the umu by laying the woods down but my grandfather hated that method because the rocks won’t be heated enough so he prefers standing the fire woods up and build around it and the umu will be as aasa as hell he says 😂 I believed it cos I did it and it works and that’s how my dad does it too
