How to Make a Shaker Wall Clock

I build the shaker wall clock form Norm Abrams plans. I have been meaning to build this project for many years. I finally take the plunge and do this very fun project. Come watch how it comes together.

Chris - Your clock turned out very nice. Well done! You can't beat the look of walnut. I have the same book in the bottom drawer of a cabinet. Guess it's time to get it out and come up with a shaker clock of my own. Take care, Steve

Great video. I’m wanting to make one of these too. Are your doors also 1/2”? If so then that’s going to be a teeny tiny mortise and tenon being 1/3 of that.

The thickness of teh door pieces is indeed 1/2 inch. liek I show in teh video the book with this plan in it is available fairly cheap on ebay ro otehr places. Also I bet your local library would have it for check out.

@@TheChrisPineWorkshop I have plans for this in 3 different shaker books - cutting M&T into 1/2” means a very thin and brittle tenon. How did you find it? Any issues? The main difference from this plan is that I want to use hand tools for the build.

Awesome Job, thanks for sharing. I'd love to do something like this with the Kreg Jig, looks like allot of these cuts can be made so much easier with the Kreg!!!

Chris I also have Norm's book because of your video I decided to try to make it. Although I don't have a planner so mine is 3/4 bed slat turned ok I'm going to be trying do a better one

I have built two of these clocks, one for a raffle at the conservation club i belong to and the other one hangs on my wall. It is a fun project and not all that hard to do. By the way, your clock looks great.
