Modern? Yes. Simple? Not the careful and detailed way you make it! This is stunning. Just beautiful. Also, I like your new jig.

I always wondered "This guy is simply amazing at fixing old things, no matter what part is broken, he can fix it.... so surely he can make something entirely from scratch? Why doesnt he?" Thank you for proving that hypothesis! Very nice. Do you enjoy making from new as much as fixing old?

I have always thought the same thing. I'm sure he can make a TON of money designing and making his own items. Not that I would want him to stop restoring, though. There are too many awesome pieces out there that need his sweet touch!

@@karencox3235 I would think he could actually make more money restoring antiques than making and selling new furniture that would have to compete with the Ikeas of the world.

Simply amazing! Yours is my absolute favorite woodworking channel. The techniques and depth of knowledge you display is both educational and inspiring. Could this be adapted to a multifunctional craft room? I paint, sew, and do woodworking. Need a desk/bench in my craft room for cutting fabric and storing threads. Need another bench/desk for my woodworking in the garage. Any suggestions?

I think you need more sturdy and heavier design for woodwork.

Very nice! I like the combination of paint and light wood. It's modern and fresh. I also like that you made the drawers free standing on casters so they can be used wherever it is convenient. Great job.

Wow! That’s a great looking desk. I bet you can build just about anything. Was this made for a client? As I’m watching you build, I was thinking about the masters of old & how they’d go about making the same table. I would imagine it would take a lot more than 12 days though. Wish you were here in Houston, TX as I have a few pieces I’d love to have you restore!

The other thing to note is that the top was solid butcher block 3-4 inches thick? That's where most of his cost was on this piece if I had to guess.

Hi! I have a trick to install those standard guides: Use that T square ruler you've made with MDF(?) and align it with the front of the cabinet (as if you were going to draw a line on the side of the cabinet). Place the bottom of the guide on the ruler (the almost square part that has the wheel). Place a carpenter´s pencil (the 1/4" side) between the ruler and the guide at half the length of the guide. That 1/4" will make the guide perpendicular to the front. That way you won't need to cut sticks for each guide or use any special jig or template. 😊 I love your restoration videos, they're mesmerizing for me and I learn a lot! The sand bag to clamp veneer to arched pieces is a great trick! Greetings from Argentina🇦🇷.
