Man that was so easy. I’m making my my stove cover now but with vertical 1x4 with a hole to act as the handle. But thanks for this, this is way easier. The stop with the miter saw was genius. I’m a beginner wood worker and said to myself wow I didn’t think of that, I was measuring and drawing a line or would put the first cut piece on top of the full board and would butt it up against the saw blade but this takes all those steps away. Thanks for the tips!

I'm a DIYer and promised my daughter I would make something for her new home and thought about making this. I was looking for ideas and inspiration on KZfaq, but not before I measured and remeasured my stove a hundred times, lol, before coming upon your channel. You make it look so easy! I will definitely use your instructions especially knowing I can save money by buying just one board since wood has now doubled or tripled in price than two years ago...but to keep it under $20 is still a steal, compared to how much they are going for on Etsy. I’ve always made mine from 1x6x10 and 1x4x8. That gives me enough for the sides for 2 of them. I’ve never glued, I’ve always screwed through the bottom with 1.25 inch screws. I enjoy seeing how other people make them

Looks great and glad to see you're using the splitter on the table saw. Only personal aspect I'd add would be to stain before you add the side boards on there permanently as you have a lot of areas showing where the stain was missing. Otherwise great work.

I made two yesterday. Haven’t put a finish on yet, but very happy so far. We did put biscuits in the middle, my husband does a lot of woodworking and he doesn’t really get the rustic thing. He always makes thing like a piece of furniture. That’s ok. Just takes a bit longer. I did have one that warped? He’s working on that. I think my vertical board, from the end was warped a little. I made that one by myself. He wouldn’t have used that board...lol. Oh well. Hey, much thanks. Love the woodwork. Your video was so much easier and made this cheaper to make. Always appreciate that. Hope mine looks as good as yours. 😊

I just made this!! The only issue I came across is the wood I bought from Home Depot was warped and one piece seems to be wonky. I would recommend spending a little more and buying it from a small local lumber yard.

I live in a small apartment and desperately need counter space. Thank you for my very own Xmas 🎁 My stove only has 2 working burners so I use my own electric skillets, griddle etc. Now I don't have to rearrange my counters to do a nice dinner.

I have been wanting one but the cost is too much for me so I’m going to try this. I’ll have to get the board cut at lowes & I’m going to make sure they follow your cuts to the T! Thank you for showing us how to do this & everyone plz wish me luck. This will be the first time I work with wood in this capacity.

I made my first one before even watching a video just saw a pic and went with it lol. I sanded the pieces and stained before I even put it together. Your method looks faster. I have to make another one this week so I’ll try that out. I also put the handles on before I glued it down. I countersunk the screws so it would glue flush and I used screws instead of brad nails . I feel like I’m doing wrong by using screws. What do you think?
