How to make a vase out of cutting boards, woodturning

In this video, I made a new work with a new manufacturing method, a cutting board that was turned into a vase, made of rosewood, rengas and maple, for finishing using wood wax and beeswax

The amount of time and effort in this piece, before you even start turning, is incredible. Then you start the turning, it just keeps on getting better and better. Finally the finishing ... what an absolutely stunning piece of work ... simply sublime 👍

Mayuko, this has become a beautiful vase! What particulary impresses me is the preparatory work. The choice of the different types of wood, the dimensions and the way in which the various parts are glued together, to ultimately create the vase you have in mind.

That’s freaking awesome. I do woodworking and wood carvings however I believe I might start doing turning wood also I’ve never thought about it before but I believe I’m hooked now . I I’ll be building my woodworking shop this spring.

Mayuko: This is stunning, thank you!. In my woodworking projects, I always want to create something that ties my 2 daughters to each other and also to their parents. So I've used the same pieces of wood for ornaments or for jewelry boxes, etc. Do you have any thoughts on something complex like you just showed, but can be cut apart (or something like that) to connect the family and be an heirloom tying everyone together? the finished size is 30cm high, the diameter is 14 cm, but as for the size of the wood pieces, I don't record it because every time I make a piece of work I just write it down on scribbled paper.

It would be great if you could learn to turn your projects instead of stabbing them with those scrapers. Are turning tools available in your area?

Good turning tools are hard to find in my area, I can only use carbide and that is quite comfortable for me
