Here’s an easy all natural deodorant recipe that you can make at home that is soothing to sensitive skin and powered by essential oils.
How to make a natural homemade deodorant with essential oils?
It’s a simple and healthy deodorant recipe, and in the video I explain each ingredient, and the best ways to blend everything together - so that your homemade deodorant feels soft and smooth on the skin, and smells fresh and clean.
Here is the recipe for a DIY deodorant with essential oils:
What you’ll need:

2 glass 2oz (50g) jars if you don’t want to use the plastic sticks: amzn.to/3s2RwfB
2 50g (or 2.5 oz) deodorant stick tubes amzn.to/3w6cIn9

Ingredients
Ingredients for 100 grams:

18% (18 grams) Coconut Oil, I prefer to use raw virgin coconut oil to maximize the antimicrobial and sooth supportive properties.
35% (35 grams) Shea ButterShea Butter, I prefer to use the refined and deodorized. The Shea Butter is the largest percentage in this recipe because of its powerful nutritive and tissue reparative properties.
5% (5 grams) Cocoa Butter great butter to add texture, firmness and softening to the skin. It's also protective and nourishing. I like the chocolate scent, so I use virgin, undeodorized.
42 grams Tapioca Starch (Flour)Tapioca Starch. I love using tapioca Starch in my recipes! And it gives my skincare products such a lovely soft, smooth finish. The reason why I am adding it here is to cut down on the greasy oily feel of the butter.
5% (5 grams) Essential Oil blends for deodorant - This approximately breaks down to drops like this:
15 drops of Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini) known for its antimicrobial, and skin soothing properties. Strong antibacterial.
9 drops of Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) known for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and skin soothing properties.
15 drops of Silver Fir (Abies alba) Known for its antibacterial, antiseptic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties
Steps for your DIY Deodorant with Essential Oils:
1) First measure and portion out each ingredient, except the essential oils
2) Prep your double boiler, and make it warm.
3) Add the cocoa butter first to melt, I always melt the hardest ingredient first since it will need the most time to melt.
4) When the cocoa butter is melted, add the shea butters and stir until all is melted.
5) When the butters are melted, add the coconut oil and mix when melted.
6) Add the tapioca stretch into the melted blend and mix very well with your mini whisk, making sure there are no clumps of powder.
7) Take the double boiler off the heat, and dry the outside off very carefully not to get any water near your containers.
8) Add your 5g of blended essential oils when the double boiler insert is off the heat, and mix well.
9)Pour in the blended mixture into your deodorant containers, cap quickly and let in the fridge overnight to set - to make sure your shea butter doesn’t get grainy.

It's spring! Time for using Natural Deodorant...this recipe is super easy. And since it doesn't have any baking soda it is super gentle on the skin!

This attention to detail greatly aids in the accuracy and replicability of the recipe. I noticed that the total recipe weight is 105g, leading to slightly different percentages than those listed. Yet, this discrepancy isn't significant. Regarding the essential oil conversion from grams to drops, there may be some room for accuracy improvement. However, adhering to the gram measurements provided should enable users to replicate your results closely. I must commend you on the beautiful presentation and the clarity of your steps. Such details are incredibly helpful, especially for those who may not have a chemistry background or extensive experience in this area. I plan to experiment with this recipe next week, using a different set of essential oils (Tea Tree/Melaleuca alternifolia, Rose/Rosa damascena, Lavender/Lavandula angustifolia). To further explore the effects, I intend to prepare two batches: one with 7% NaHCO3 and one without. I'll apply them separately to each arm and share my observations on the outcomes. I was searching for some ratios to make deodorant and happened upon your video which was most helpful! I LOVE how you give grams and percentages- very thorough, making you the only professional Essential oil blender I found in my quick deodorant search this morning. Todays attempt was my second one in making deodorant. My first attempt I used only Shea butter and the oils - it wasn't a complete disaster, I managed to use it all, very quickly I might emphasis - because once it touched my warm skin, melted quickly, so I knew I needed something firmer. I decided on using organic Soy wax, which I had on hand from candle making - before watching your video and must say with fewer ingredients the deodorant turned out successful: My recipe for a single deodorant, that I poured into my empty used container was a bit higher percentage of Essential oils compared to yours; as I used 7 drops of Geranium (MY FAVORITE), 5 drops Palmarosa, and 5 of BALSAM fir (I simply didn't have Silver Fir in my assortment); 30g Soy Wax, 25g Shea Butter, 30g tapioca (cassava) starch (noting corn starch to be a viable substitution; with potato or arrowroot starches requiring a bit more). The starch is key in absorbing the sweat and something I had not planned on until watching your video. So glad I added it to my recipe. Additionally, I wanted to share with you and your viewers there are many other oils which could be used in deodorant. I highly recommend: Fragonia, Bergamot, Cypress, Patchouli or Sandalwood. The use of 3 or less is ideal. While other oils could be substituted for smelling pleasure, some oils are dermocaustic, so caution should be used. Finally, there are homemade recipes including baking soda, I steer clear of that, because it irritates my skin.

Hello, can you use one essential oil sent instead of mixing a combination of essential oils. I would like an essential oil fragrance for men any suggestions are appreciated. I never made deodorant, decided to make my own tried of all the chemicals in store bought deodorant. Will this recipe be enough for 5-2.5 Oz. Tubes,Thanks God bless .

yes of course you can choose to use only one essential oils rather than a blend of several. Scents for men: Atlas cedarwood, Juniper Berry, Hinoki Wood, Cypress, Eucalyptus. It might make enough for that may. Test it out

Actually no...it will affect the feel and how it applies to the skin. You can add a little bit of beeswax but I wouldn't do a part for part trade
