This brings me some good memories of visiting krakow a few years ago... Such an amazing place with some of the most delicious recipes ever. Bigos was my favorite one back then!

Thanks for the recipe. To think there is so many variations of this recipe. Cooked bigos for the first time this week from memory from when my Mother cooked it over 32 years ago.

How long do you fry the saurkraut?

I don’t fry it but cook it for 15 minutes.

I wish you showed how you make it from skratch 🙈 it appears you already have sauerkraut in the pot! What kind of sauerkraut did you buy? Did you rinse it in water? Etc

I literary transferred the cabbage to pot. That’s one step. I don’t rinse it. I buy any sauerkraut that’s available.

This is not a traditional bigos recipe. "Stew With Kiełbasa?"...yes, but not bigos. One of the most popular recipes for this dish comes from Maria Slezanska cookbook from 1936 and is nowhere near what this vid is presenting.
