Hello, I love your videos and I find them very informative, but I was wondering if you could make a tutorial (or a video packed with tips and tricks) for carving foam with scissors only? I have been searching everywhere but I can never find one that really helps me get a smooth shape, I only get weird, jagged edges with bumps everywhere. Thanks, love from Switzerland 🇨🇭

I would LOVE to! I personally use scissors for my foam cutting so it's my area of expertise. I've been wanting to make a video about that for a while. I'm going to make an effort to get that out sooner.

Oh wonderful! Thank you. I had the original video in my paw tutorials playlist but thisll be so much better. One of my sonas is a monster with this sort of claws! Although they are glass-like 😂 i doubt ill wanna make them glass-like for real hahaha

So happy this helped!!! Yeah that's going to be tricky to realize, glass like claws. If you do go the plastic claw tip route, it should be kind of straight forward to just leave the minky parts of the fingers out, sew up everything else, then glue the fur of the 'fingerless gloves' like paws around the plastic claw tips. You'd have to probably custom model/cast hollow pointed fingertips for that, I doubt DVC has any of this kind of shape in stock. Just normal claws.

THESE ARE SO COOOOL AAAHH!!!! i've never seen anything quite like them, amazing work as usual!!!!!! also, kind of a specific question, but how did you trim down the fur on the dominant-hand paw? did you just have the shaver in your non-dominant hand and were extra careful, or did you put the paw upside-down on your non-dominant hand and shave with your dominant hand as normal? (hopefully that question makes sense lol) also, happy almost-new-year's!!!!!!!!

HAHA good question. I did a combination of using the shaver with my non dominant hand, and also just wearing the right paw on my left hand backwards (so the palm side was on the back of my hand lol) and my right hand holding the shaver! It sometimes is easier to shave em if theyre being worn. But I do take them off and hold them in my hand and shave as well, helps to fold fingers back to get into hard to reach areas.

Hello!! Your videos are always packed with info and tips, but I wanted to ask how you decide what to hand sew versus what to sew with the machine?

What a great question!! So my main deciding factor is basically "how easy will this be to sew with machine? Is it a straight seam or only slightly curved, not super zigzaggy etc?" If I can sew it by machine I will always do that, since it's faster and always strong. If it's a tight area like sewing the Vs between the fingers I always have to hand sew that, its impossible for me to maneuver paws under my machine and have the needle accurately go where it needs to go on top and bottom. I also know if I hand sew small details like the corners of mouths or small markings, I can have way better control of where the needle goes and sew much more accurately where it would be obvious if something was a little off in the sewing of a small marking.

I'm kinda new to sewing but I'm a fast learner and want to redo my first fursuit head, he didn't turn out bad at all, I'm actually really happy with him but since finishing his head, paws, and tail for Halloween I've learned a lot and want to remake him lol

@@celiawood7699 you should be so proud!!! Most people don't even make or finish their first head, but you actually completed it! I still have my first head and I adore him so much, I'm so proud that I was able to make him myself and I'll never throw him out. First suits are so charming.
