You can use a can of compressed air duster, turn it upside down and spay the liquid out on the hot glue as you'er extruding it from the glue gun. It cools the hot glue down near instantly solidifying it. I use that technique to make ooze monsters for DND. If you use this though be careful spraying the liquid out of the compressed air duster, if it gets on your skin it can cause frostburns, also this shouldn't be done unless you're in a well ventilated area.

For fire elementals, I recommend dry brushing with a metallic, color shifting red paint. This really helps it catch the ambient light for a dynamic look even without a tealight.

I have a similar fire elemental that I 3d printed with clear filament. I used different color Sharpie markers to provide color and still allow it to remain transparent. It worked quite well. I did the same with the water and air elementals but used less.

Okay this is cool as hell is the totally new technique for me that's very simple and the way you're able to incorporate the tealight was really clever. I would have planned the designer on having a hollow space to fit the tealight to begin with so the tealight could be removable
