I is a great suggestion about reducing your stitch length when you start sewing and when you are at the end. This helps not to have the thickness of a back stitch. I have never seen this done, but it makes so much sense. Can’t wait to start using this method. Thanks for sharing your video with all of us. ❤

I'm a newbie to your channel I was just scrolling through KZfaq and I saw your table topper. I love the tip on quilting of using the masking tape. How simple to get evenly spaced quilting without measuring and actually marking. I can't wait to try these. I think I'm going to make mine just a little larger though either I'm going to cut a 12 in square or 13 haven't decided for sure. This is a great fat quarter project. In fact I think I may make some coasters and your table topper out of the same fabrics.

@SewtheDistance
@SewtheDistance Жыл бұрын
I use regular Elmers school glue. Is that PVA? I’m not sure. It’s washable and wonderful! I think insulbright would work, as long as you don’t put it in the microwave. Not that anyone would, but if you are giving them as a gift or selling them, I would make sure to include that information. Also, I know some people put terrycloth in theirs. I haven’t tried it, but I’m sure it would work. ❤️

Instead of using tape, use a fabric marker and a ruler to mark lines and then sew on the lines. There are several different types of markers that work great. Some remove by ironing, some by wetting them and some disappear in a few hours. Much easier and faster than using the tape.
@SewtheDistance
@SewtheDistance Жыл бұрын
Great thought! I’ve used fabric markers before on these coasters, but if the coasters get too cold or too hot, the ink reappears. I find tape to be a better option because of this. It’s not for everyone, however. Use what works best for you. ❤️

Great question. Yes! It is completely water soluble. If you don’t want to put them in the washing machine, you can just wipe it with a damp cloth. You can also just leave it. It will eventually break down. Hope this helps.
