I had a coworker lose a dear friend that was making a baby blanket. I have a sewing machine and am fairly crafty, so I offered to finish the blanket (with thanks to a couple KZfaq videos). Thank you for this video. I made coasters with the leftover fabric so that the friends and family can have one last little present from her. It’s perfect because she was a bartender at a bar they all frequented. Thank you for the clear instructions for my project, it made it so easy for me.

Thank you! I'm making a hostess gift basket for a friend who is intending me to be one of her first friends to come visit her home out in the country. Having been in that spot before myself, I really want to honor the invitation! I have a few things gathered together but it just felt wrong without anything fabric in the mix to soften it up. Thank you for the perfect idea, which will also do double duty as a good way for me to get to know the newest sewing machine in my life. :)

I am not very good with a sewing machine but ok had hand sewing. Would they work as well?

Isn't a coaster supposed to stop wetness from glass dew?? I am going to maybe sew in a plastic sheet from old binder, or cork paper..I hope, this works because this is simple and cute!

That sounds like a great idea. Any thin plastic sheet should work. 😀
