We make sloppy joes the same way. They are so good. Makes me want to add to our meal plan this week. There other recipes out there that put Chilli powder in there sloppy joes which I believe is like that canned manwich version.

This is the same recipe my mom and nanny used to make only instead of all the seasonings they added 1 can of Campbell's chicken gumbo or chicken and rice soup. It's weird but it works. I am definitely trying it this way though

For a second there, I thought you did it the same way as my mom :) She always cooked her ground beef, drained it well, and added ketchup and mustard, a little brown sugar, and just a splash of cider vinegar. Always to taste, and I still love them made this way. I'm going to try your version, without the onion though, lol :)

I've had taters like that. I just cut out the bad parts. The rest is fine. You can't make wedges out of what's left, but you can still make home fries. The pieces are small enough that you can be sure you found all the bad parts. It looks like about a 20% loss in your picture when you allow for a safety margin around the bad spots. With a big bag, though, you're probably better off returning them (unless using them all up fast is easy). Those spots might be growing. If that new bag is from the same batch as the old bag, aren't these taters likely to be the same? Sloppy joes always remind me of this: /watch?v=lizfzsxMdzk

Just like my Grandma made them, except she added a little Worcestershire sauce...and she called them 'Taverns'. I asked my Mom why G'ma called them that, and she is not sure. If anyone knows of Sloppy Joe's by this name, let me know! Maybe it was a regional thing. Grandma came from S. Dakota. :)
