It is more powerful if you use a car starter motor than bike starter motor.
You can get here :

Gentlemen: I appreciate the gentleman who posted this video. Yes, the electric motor is from scrap items. The concept is there. For those expert critics who are Engineers, you can give to youtube world with more detailed design and every interested person will be happy. It is my desire and hope that You can post a much better design (from experts) and the biking world will enjoy it. Thanks Gentlemen.

Yes, you are right.. I was one of those also. I worked as a field engineer and troubleshooting most days. It is easy to develop a perspective of what might go wrong, and be critical. But I agree this is a good video and he has obvious good skills, knowledge, and a great demonstration.. Most likely his project will work fine for his needs, and if motor needs replacement one day, looks like he could easily do so.

As I was watching the video I kept myself from reading the comments until the end , just knowing the negativity that people have. I was not expecting such a truthful comment as yours. It's a shame that negative comments are easier for so many people to jot down verses a positive note that is beneficial to all. If this man had a small shop & a box full of tools & material. He would be in heaven. 👍👍 Very good idea you have. Keep coming with the videos.

i like the design. this is definitely the most invasive way to install a electric motor. i would go further and build a compartment for the batteries that was waterproof and house the wires with tubing. as for the starter motor, i think the airflow would keep it cool enough to prevent it from burning up. i would like to see this on a 21 speed bicycle. great job!!!

Absolute upper class! This is real DIY, real making! I am absolutely thrilled when I see projects like this, where hardware that actually serves a different purpose is turned into a means of transport. It's great that there are countries where you can ride a bike like this on the road! In Germany, where I live, I would be stopped immediately by the police with such a DIY e-bike because such a bike "does not meet the safety regulations" ... A great project, folks!😎😎👍

@@richreynoldsCIT That's right, a 1%er e-bike gang would be a cool idea ... But then I would have to build a much stronger e-bike which is faster than the police ... But unfortunately, a few years ago we had here in Germany a "rocker war" between the "Hells Angeles" and the "Bandidos", in which people also died. Since then, motorcycle gangs in Germany have always had the police on their butts😡 ...

@@rightwinger9011 Well, looks like Bangladesh has some advantages too! Unfortunately in Germany you often hear things about Bangladesh that make me really angry, that many people there have to work very hard for a ridiculously low wage so that here in Germany a pair of jeans costs less than a good piece of bread. I am happy when I see such cool projects, when I see that people build great things ...

Dear, Self starter motor not a continuous rating motor. If run this motor continues more than 30 minutes it will be burn. So, you should use any whipper motor.

Very crude but very effective, brilliant, think most people would appreciate a slightly more sophisticated throttle control but on balance fantastic, I'd like one myself and a much simpler design than the complicated pedal combination motors that no doubt have no parts available in 4 years time once they are broken or need repairing. (hate to sound cynical, but that will only change when manufacturers have a bit more respect for resources and longevity)

So a starter motor doing full duty? Would love an update on how long it last. Anyone attempting to do this be careful and wear as much gear as is practical to protect yourself. Even though it’s a bike your now having to deal with higher speeds. Be safe

Good concept. May have longevity issues. Time will tell. Thanks for sharing! It would be great to see a follow up video after a year of use...if it lasts that long...just to verify the application is sound.
