How to make Flexagons

Kjartan introduces his magical stage flexagons including "The Witches Purse" then shows how to make one yourself. There's also a website flexomania.com with a free book to download so you can go on to become a flexagon expert!

Very entertaining and informative! You've gained a new subscriber. Near the beginning, you showed one (looking quite polished), then pulled it apart to show the triangles. How did you do this? Had you not glued the ends or were you using magnets or just holding it carefully without those pieces being adhered?

Hi! Thank you for your nice comments. The triflexagon at 1:20 is made from card and the two triangles that have to "stick" are held together by a tiny piece of blu-tak. I also have a much bigger one held with velcrose, but it's not so easy to use. Good luck if you're making your own!

Thanks! I love flexagons and I've done several videos about them so you may well have seen one of the others. This is the first one with the "Witches Purse" which is one of my very favourites!

I saw your hexaflexagon and triflexagon. They moved very smoothly. In particular, the color of Hexaplexagon was very neat. Besides, it was big. How did you color and what paper did you use to make the flexagon? Also, the hexaflexagon was not thick and well made. How did you do it?

The bigger flexagons are made from card, and they move smoothly because I've shown them at 100s of events! The colour bits are mostly coloured printer paper cut out and glues on, or stickers. The smaller flexagons are drawing pad paper, slightly thicker and tougher than printer paper.
