Same. My grandfather died when I was a year old, my other grandfather had a debilitating illness and while I know he loved me and I have a lot of good memories of him there was a lot he physically couldn't do, and my father was diagnosed as a narcissist so you can imagine what that was like. But this guy? He has the kinds my grandfather had and he gives genuinely helpful advice. I'm hoping he will tackle snow chains like he did the windshield wipers. No one ever showed me how to change them before.

@@Rebecca-ku9eo It’s scary to think about someone being diagnosed as a narc, because it is so rare. There’s many people with narc qualities, but for someone to have the diagnosis is so much more intense than the average. My mom is the same way and I feel for you.

@@marah3298 I feel for you too. My dad set up an appointment for himself and my mom with a psychiatrist in the hopes of her being diagnosed with OCD to basically prove she was crazy and he was right about everything and shouldn't be allowed to divorce him. This was the 1980s so things were a bit different then. But the psychiatrist said that while my mom might have some issues with depression, which she did and was treated for and has been doing very well since then, my dad ended the sessions after the psychiatrist diagnosed him as having Narcissistic Personality Disorder. So he essentially shot himself in the foot with that weird power play. And that's why I'm so thankful for this channel. This dad is so kind and so helpful and I'm so happy he makes these videos :)

If you wanna get extra fancy, replace the bread with croissants from a Costco or grocery store bakery. Slice them in half the long way like you're making one of those croissant chicken salad sandwiches, leave the slices out for a little while to dry out a bit, and then use them for your french toast. It'll change your life!!

You should look into cooking bread and butter pudding. It sounds awful and tastes amazing, it’s a fabulous dessert with a tiny bit of ice cream on the side. For French toast, I usually make the unsweetened version, by just adding salt and pepper.

Learn little tricks to turn a bologna sandwich into something balanced and filling with the right toppings. Or even some easy choices if you have a dinner date.

I just want to thank you for making this channel. I cried the other day because of a video I saw, it was a girl calling her dad. Her dad kept saying how much she makes his day whenever he calls and how she's so wonderful. My dad gave up on me a few years ago, he left when I was 3 and only when I was 11 he came back. He came back for my brother. He took me places with my brother but didn't seem happy to take me. I'm In highschool and I don't know the love of a dad. Solid French toast tutorial! My mom always put a pinch of sugar in the egg batter and sprinkle in some nutmeg! Also, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY important to let the bread soak up the mixture. You want to let it sit for a good 30 seconds to a minute. Also, bread that's gone a little stale is great for making french toast! Heating the syrup is key! Don't put cold maple syrup on hot French toast/pancakes!!! Bon Appétit!

Powdered sugar, jam, apple butter, or pumpkin butter are yummy alternate toppings on warm French toast instead of syrup. Also, you can cut the cooked French toast into strips and dunk them in to a side of syrup to get kids to be more interested in eating it. If you get them involved in stirring, dipping, pouring in the vanilla etc... they will love eating what they helped make and not ask to go through BK for their French toast strips. French toast in slice or strip form freeze well, just make sure they are totally cooled before putting them in a ziplock or air tight container. Thanks for the vid! Love your "French hat" :)

He would just say "Let me do it, you don't know how to do it anyways" and not explain me how to actually do it. I don't blame my father but I just regret that this is the way I was raised : never really got to learn how to do certains things and now feeling that I'll never be as independant that I should. I moved away from my family since i was 14. I understand how hard it is to live without a family, to have to learn everything by oneself. Really appreciate for your amazing channel. Wonderful

I love what you are doing. For me personally i enjoy the all the video's. The most usefull are the ones when you are repairing something (for me) . But i love you show also these kind of things. After all, if someone never learned you how to do something, how are you suposed to know how to do it?

I've only ever made it with Lakeland brand Texas Toast. And while it's still warm, put peanut butter on it, followed by syrup. It's incredible, you're welcome.

My french toast recipe came about the opposite way of yours. I threw in every ingredient I could find in the kitchen and every time taking away an ingredient that seemed unnecessary. My final recipe is yours with more cinnamon (always more cinnamon), brown sugar, and flour in the coating. Just a heaping spoonful of flour for every serving makes the coating more like a batter, which makes everything fluffier and more dessert-like. And for french toast, I'm going for a cross of breakfast pastry, fireball candies, and that childhood wonder when Burger King french toast sticks made me happy.

Such a cool and wholesome channel. Some people don't have dad's, their dad's suck, or their dad's just aren't good at teaching life skills, it's not a bad thing just not everyone can explain things in a way that makes sense to someone who's new at something. Love the channel and love having a place to learn life skills like home/car repair/improvement/maintenance and cooking 😁👍🏻
