6 C. all-purpose flour
2 t. salt
2 t. instant yeast
2 C. milk, lukewarm
1/4-1/2 C. water

When I was a kid (in the 80's) my dad took me to a fancy Christmas party thrown by his company. They had a super realistic santa who gave each kid a gift, and mine was one from my Christmas list, so I was completely star struck! They had the tallest tree I had ever seen, and lights everywhere like a fairytale. BUT, the thing that stuck with me the most, was this MASSIVE bread crocodile that took up the whole center of the kid's table! Was 30 years ago, and still seems magical. ♡

Pro tip: usually you’ll have to hand knead for 10 minutes and on the stand mixer it would be 5-7 minutes

Cali Girl probably with pretzels but with bread kneading it extra long just makes it more chewy (unless you’re doing it for super long which would maybe make it tough). It’s a good note to know that your bread is well kneeled when it’s smooth and elastic

Jordie Carter I’m still not getting that right consistency I think next time I will check some vids that show how people knead. Maybe my method is just wrong. The bread tastes great, it’s just.... more compact. I have been advised to also add some more milk, since I live in a hot dry climate

Try tesco i bought a bag yesterday they are selling buy ounces i bought 5 ounces for £2. They also have giant bags of bread mix u just add water. And best days to go are Sundays 😊

Awesome, Emmy...my daughter's been making bread, first time ever for her and this looks fun...caught the Martin's bag...do you save your bread bags? My mom saved bread bags to store food in, not one ziplock in my house growing up! I would have to wash them out when washing the dishes and hang them on the clothesline to dry to use again, just one of many depression era/WW 2/yankee habits of my parents...oh yes, that bag took me back...! 😊

I have always made my families bread for the last 20yrs.. When my kids were really little I made all sorts of bread animals for them, I did little frogs a few times and served them on salad, I did Elephants and made chicken strips, mashed potatoes, gravey & broccoli and I would rearrange their plates to look like an African savanna, I did crocodiles & would serve them floating in Soup.. this helped my kids eat so well!! Lol
