Thanks for not editing out the difficult / beginner uncertainties so we know what to expect. If it looked PERFECT, and PERFECTLY easy to put together, we would lose the learning curve mysteries.

Thank you so much for your video! I made this bread today and it was amazing! I don't think I would realize it was gluten free if I didn't know! I would have worried through the whole process if I didn't see your experience first. I, like you, was a little weary with the process. I wouldn't mind making this bread once a week. I can easily do housework during the rest times.

I have made this a couple times and mine wasn't nearly as sticky as yours. Maybe your humidity was higher that day! if you find it is sticky just add a little more flour to make it slightly less tacky! I also find that if I preheat my dutch ovens before hand the bottoms burn. America's Test Kitchen does a dutch oven sourdough that is amazing and they don't preheat the dutch oven just the oven itself. I have been doing this as well and the breads all turn out amazing.

@@SavorySaver You are very welcome. I made this again for Thanksgiving and it turned out awesome again. My family is so grateful for tasty gluten free bread that everyone wants to eat. I always leave the leftovers if there are any with my sister so she can enjoy bread for several days after a gathering. She said it made excellent French toast!

Hearing the sound of the knife cutting through the bread at the beginning was a hint that the outcome would be good!😉 I don’t own a Dutch oven pot, but have been thinking about getting one over the past months. Your taste test sold me on the recipe! ❤️-Brenda Oliver is such a pretty dog!

Great recipe. I'll take the couple challenges for something to come out that good, especially when the process will get better with practice. I have found that with dutch ovens to not look at something too expensive. I like 5-6 quart size. It's good for pretty much any type of soup/stew or large amount of something like spaghetti sauce. Price range should be anywhere from probably $40-75. Sams, Costco, Bjs or Amazon are good places to look for a decent one at reasonable prices. Thank you for the Oliver compliment...he is a really good dog overall and super smart....even when he is a pain in the behind! 🤣

I have the lodge one and my mom has the amazon one. The both work great. I also have a very old Tramontina one that I still use only for bread baking. You don't need anything fancy as I have seen professional bakers use dutch ovens that aren't enameled for baking their breads in and that may be what I get next for baking so I don't damage the enamel to quickly!@@SavorySaver

I really feel like I've been on an adventure with you on this one. It was a little iffy at first but boy did it turn out just perfect! Wonderfully crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. I didn't hear you say if the knob on your beautiful dutch oven survived the heat or not but I hope it did. Great video. Thank you!

Thank you so much! I gotten so I find it fun to try out a recipe for the first time and show you guys the process and outcome. Sometimes I look a recipes and wonder if the time, process or ingredient cost is worth it. I feel others think that way as well so if I try and film it then others can make a better decisison on if they should try it out. In regards to the knob, you're right I forgot to give you guys the outcome on that. It was fine. No issues with it. I let it cool completely before I took off the foil but all is good so I will continue to do that as a safeguard....just in case.

Thanks for the video! I'm going to try it out tomorrow :) Quick question - did you preheat the dutch oven with the lid on it? never used a dutch oven before

This recipe says to preheat the dutch oven uncovered but some recipes (like the one I hope to have out later today) has the dutch oven being covered during the preheat process.

If you cover your mat and your dough w a sprinkle of flour it might make things less sticky

Great tip Joanne! Sometimes I do that as well even with that mat. It also sometimes depends on what the recipe says.....and then I usually realize I should have gone with my gut and not listened to the recipe.🤣

I have king Arther measure for measure gluten free flour. Will that work?

King Arthur developed this recipe using their gluten free bread flour so it will most likely not work with their measure for measure flour.

So you recommend gluten free Caputo flour to make pizza and bread? I just wanted to make sure that I understand your demonstration on KZfaq especially I did not get to see all your demo, it looks like your show wascut off I. the middle of demonstration.

Hi Raquele, The King Arthur Gluten free bread flour is relatively new so I liked it for pizza dough and the breads I've made with it but I also like Caputo, espeically for pizza dough. Part of it is, I have just used it more for pizza dough. I am having a harder time finding it near me so I will probably start using the KA flour more for pizza as time goes on. I'm doing dough by hand, it doesn't feel sticky when I have combined the ingredients, is that okay? It feels smooth but not sticky

I have only made this recipe as stated on the King Arthur Website so I can't speak for if it will work or making it without the starter for it. I'm sorry I can't better answer your question. Thank you for watching.

Some kind of sugar, honey, maple syrup is usually used to give the yeast something to feed on. That being said, if you typically have good results with baking gf bread without sugar, then I would probably try it here as well.
