How To Make HOMEMADE TOMATO SAUCE Like an Italian Nonno

Homemade tomato sauce is the essential ingredient in every Italian household - it’s like liquid gold. This year I was invited to Sicilian tomato master Filippo’s, to make his yearly batch using his very own home-grown Roma tomatoes. 🍅💯
This practice is about more than cooking, it is an annual tradition where the whole family gathers together to create one of the simplest but most important ingredients that will feature heavily on the plate all year round. The custom is dying out in a lot of ways with the older generation but I’m here to teach you how it’s done so you can keep it going! 🍅
Gather your family and make a batch large or small - I promise once you taste the difference you’ll be making your own batch every year too!

@@absolutelyabsolute4671 monsanto is a giant in food production that messes with gm foods, they insert their board members into government bodies all over the wold and basically influence those countries for their interests. It's worth having a little look into it, very corrupt

@@absolutelyabsolute4671 yes, they have destroyed the livelyhoods of many primary producers and many others and forced gm foods to dominate the market and therefore give Monsanto a lot of control over food production and availability. gm foods have contributed to a lot of problems and imbalance in the ecosystem. there are a lot of concerns with long-term human health when ingesting GM foods. there are suspicions of coverups around human health effects similar to the coverups in the sugar and tobacco industry, but as yet definative proof of this is difficult.

Watching this while taking a break from bottling my own passata. Tomatoes grown from seeds given to me by a couple of old tobacco growers; one gentleman was originally from the same area of Sicily! Memories of sitting around the tub cutting the cores out of the tomatoes, learning Italian swear words, drinking home made wine, and listening to the stories 😊

Sounds like an amazing memory you got there. Really grateful that my content was able to bring that back to you. Keep it close to your heart and cherish every bit of it. Did you try out this recipe in making passata? I'd also like to know how you make your own passata.
