Looks like each Korean family has their own way of making kimbap, like the seaweed orientation being vertical or horizontal, or using sesame oil and sesame seeds to brush the outside just before slicing.

My moms blinnd now so im the one stuck cooking but i dont mind it. I just looks up random recipes and follow until i make it so often i make it by memory and add or take in it now. Ive been doing a lot if asian dishes but me nor my mom can eat spicy or hot food so i have to tone it done and sub ingredients.
