HOW TO MAKE: let's build a concrete reinforcing steel bender (rebar bending tool)

Using scrap materials and some basic hand tools along with a lathe, angle grinder and MIG welder we make a really useful tool, to bend concrete rebar with ease!
This video shows the design and fabrication of a rebar bending tool needed so I can get the steel reinforcement into the foundations of the retaining wall project- • How to build a RETAINI...

I'm not a professional builder, fabricator or engineer- so these videos are just showing "how I did it..."

Thanks so much. It’s worked admirably on the retaining wall, but when I start the workshop build any improvements in time efficiency will definitely be welcomed!

Where are they still teaching machining in NZ?

I know right!? So many schools have moved away from using heavy machinery due to safety concerns and lack of knowledge. I certainly benefited from my exposure to machining at school, and know many of the students enjoy the challenge.

@danwaterson356 thanks a lot man, but I can 100% guarantee you that If it was up to university alone I would go through the entire degree without ever touching a single screwdriver Thankfully I have other ways to "get my hands dirty" and actually learn Best of luck with your transformation and renovation project !!
