How to Make Muddy Buddies | An easy and quick recipe

A classic holiday treat made in small batch form - the perfect amount for 1-2 people.

2 cups of Rice Chex cereal
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1/2 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup powdered sugar.
Place cereal in a large bowl.
In a medium/small microwave safe bowl place peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips
Microwave in 30 second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth.
Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and toss gently to coat completely.
Add cereal mixture into a zippered bag with powdered sugar and gently toss to coat.
Spread mixture onto a baking sheet or piece of wax paper or parchment paper and allow to set up
Enjoy!

OMG, Thank You!! I love homemade Puppy Chow. I grew up calling it Puppy Chow in the 80s. I knew how to make the bigger batches, but couldn't get the ratios right for a small batch just for me. We didn't really add alot to them except maybe the appropriate colored sugar to the powdered sugar to make them festive. Half the batch green, and the other half red, and mix them together. We called these Christmas Puppy Chow. Again Thank You, now I can make some just for myself. ☺️

Thanks for this small recipe. I love Muddy Buddies but I’m the only one that eats them and I don’t need a full batch. This is perfect! Will be making this weekend.

Great job! My son has nut and seed allergies, so I swap out the peanut butter with tahini paste and add a little more chocolate to get the consistency for this. Merry Christmas!
