This pasta maker is so easy and fun to use and clean up is so fast. The pasta is delicious!! I'm so happy I waited till I could afford this model instead of settling for a less expensive one or another brand. This machine is high quality!! I love it! :)

Thanks for watching Linda, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! :) I have had consistently good results, and I think that is because I use a scale. I think that makes a world of difference. I also have a Pasta and Bread Machine group on Facebook, Please feel free to pop on over!!

I've just bought one on Amazon and found your video very helpful and down-to-earth. On another video, they said the double recipe is for 8 people. But as you said, it's easy enough to freeze.

It might be something for me to try soon. I've been working on jazzing up some of my Chinese food recipes..the "tempura " chicken (more battered than tempura really), the crab Rangoon and the eggrolls are exactly the way we like them. Just trying to find a fried rice that we really like. Wontons would be a great next project. Please be sure to check out those other videos and check back for some homemade wonton! 😊

Hi Giselle B, The scale I use is off my Wolfgang Puck bread machine, but he does make a stand alone scale as well. I think that any brand would work. Just make sure that you can zero it out when you put your empty cup on, and that it has both grams and ounces. Happy pasta making!!

Hi Jen, I have done the half and half with good results. I have not tried full on semolina.(Im not sure how that would turn out.) I will take a video of what it looks like with half AP and half Semolina in the next day or so. The pumpkin/sage pasta I made came out really good. If you haven't seen that one yet, you may want to check it out. Thanks for watching :)

@ReensPlace
@ReensPlace 6 жыл бұрын
Congrats!! That's super exciting!!! We have not bought pasta since we got our machine.(My husband jokes that we are now pasta snobs!!) After you are done extruding the pasta, remove any large pieces left in the machine. I hand wash all my parts. The smaller pieces (the dies, screens) are sometimes easier to clean if you let the dough dry on it a little (like while you're eating) and then you can just pop it right off the pieces!

I watch the pasta dough, and do not stick to the exact amount of water that the machine says to use because not all flour absorbs liquids equally. I use imported soft wheat flour 00 flour from Italy, and the water to flour is not the same as American wheat.

Reens Place I ordered this machine, took it out of the box, looked it over, and packed it back up to return to Amazon. I ordered the pasta attachments for my KitchenAid Mixer. The machine’s footprint is just to big for my taste, and just another big machine that I would have to keep in the pantry & bring out when I need it. I think I am spoiled by years of kneading my dough by hand, and don’t like the fact that the machine decides when the dough is ready. I guess it’s an Italian thing. 😂😂. My family always used Olive Oil in our pasta, but they had Olive Trees to express the family’s Olive Oil.
@ReensPlace
@ReensPlace 6 жыл бұрын
Did you get the attachments yet? How do you like them? They have great reviews. We used to make dough by hand with a crank roller, but honestly I just don't have the strength in my hands like I used to. Wow, I would Love to have homemade olive oil!! I can just imagine the taste !! The best olive oil I ever had was by Badia A Coltibuono.....fabulous!!! :)

Reens Place The home made olive oil is to die for, but Whole Foods has a great selection if you cannot get any from Italy. 😁. I got the KitchenAid attachments, and they work great. They were more expensive, but I like the fact that I don’t have to add another machine to the kitchen.😀. If my Nonna saw all the gadgets I have in my kitchen she would say, “You no make food with love, you make food with machines. This is not the same.” Nonna was still making all the pasta by hand way into her 80’s. All that kneading pasta by hand is the reason any Italian child will tell you that they do not want their Nonna to smack their butts. 😂. Oh yes, sauce is ALWAYS mixed with the pasta; the add on top of naked pasta is an American thing!!

This video does not inspire me in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. I own a Phillips Pasta make of the same make and model. And i love it. It is a wonder for me to have in my kitchen. I would never combine the homemade pasta with a "sauce out the bottle" nor would I create the Garlic Bread from "leftovers" That is why I also have slow cookers and bread machines. As for a well balanced dinner, the only thing mentioned here for veggies was garlic and parsley, Protien was only eggs and a bit of cheese. I would consider this a waste of my time to watch, but I will not as it is leading me in the right direction of how I would present this machine and the way to use it.

Dale Todorowich this video is about using the machine not about sauce or using leftovers (some people don't like wasting food)

Thank you for your comment Mr Norris, noted and understood. In this day and age, none of us should waste food of any sort. This I agree and do not. This Pasta machine is wonderful tool addition to my kitchen, and I use it at least twice a week. It is a great way to cut the cost of meals. As well I have found that there is such a variety of uses for it and the imagination is has no limit on the assortment of what can be done with it.

Dale, It was the second time I ever used the machine and I only took the video because a friend asked me to. It was just to show how the machine operated as they were on sale (half off) at the time the video was taken and she was deciding if it was easy enough to use. As for "sauce out of the bottle", I prefer that to takeout and as I had a lot of things to do that night I opted for store bought. I too make bread and rolls (homemade) 2 to 3 times a week, and many kinds of sauce from scratch. (I also can and dehydrate fresh fruits and vegetables from my garden. I never said I was making a "well balanced dinner". I grew up without a lot, so I try not to waste anything. If that means making garlic bread from leftover buns rather then throw them out, that's what I do. I'm sorry you feel my video was a waste of time. My intent was to share how the machine operates.

Buy a hand-crank and make pasta. Don't act like you are making pasta. You're just measuring.

Yes, clearly understood what the video was about. Not that difficult to understand. My hope was to dissuade folks from spending hundreds of $s and falsely believe they are making pasta. My hope was to give someone pause and to know there is another way. Buy a hand-crank (not handmade!) for $30 and actually make pasta. If I only save one soul . . . .
@ReensPlace
@ReensPlace 6 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey, It is after all a "pasta maker machine." The appeal of buying one is the ease at which you can make pasta, by just measuring a few ingredients. As I have become more comfortable with it, I have experimented with different kinds of flours, flavors and herbs. It is a lot of fun also! I actually do own a hand crank machine and have done it that way for years, but as I have gotten a little older my joints just aren't what they used to be and this is a great alternative for me.

She made pasta... It took her to gather the ingredients, measure it and properly work the machine. In her kitchen... on her... You get the point. Also, not everyone has the strength for all of that. So chill.
@GodGunsGutsandNRA

Jeffrey Covell Jeffery, the “hand-crank,” as you referred to it, IS a MACHINE! Homemade or handmade pasta made by someone that does not know what they are doing in regards to ingredients and ratios would taste like crap. The “Machine” does not have a brain, so it is NOT the one that is deciding what ingredients to add to the pasta dough, deciding when the dough has been kneaded enough, or if it needs to relax before rolling. Machines saves time in making pasta quickly, sort of like your CAR saves time over you riding a HORSE to work,
