About the lover's knot tiara:
The piece of jewelry Kate wears was created for Queen Mary in 1914 by the House of Garrard from pearls and diamonds already owned by her family. Mary modeled after her grandmother Princess Augusta of Hesse's headpiece, the original Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, which is currently thought to be held in an unknown private collection.
According to the Court Jeweller, when Queen Mary commissioned the piece, she "sacrificed a tiara from her own jewelry collection, the Ladies of England Tiara, to make it."
After Queen Mary died in 1953, the crown was passed down to her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen wore the tiara several times in the '50s, before moving on to other pieces like the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, which have since become her favorites.
In 1981, the Queen reportedly loaned the Lover's Knot Tiara to Princess Diana as a wedding gift. Diana opted instead to wear the Spencer Tiara, a family heirloom, on her big day, but the Lover's Knot became one of her favorite pieces, despite being so heavy that it hurt her head.
When Diana and Charles divorced, the crown was returned to Queen Elizabeth II-Diana was allowed to keep her jewelry as part of the settlement, but as the tiara was on loan from the Queen, it was given back-and reportedly put into a safe at Buckingham Palace.
According to People, following Diana's death in 1997, the tiara wasn't seen publicly until 2015, when Duchess Kate wore it to much fanfare at a reception at Buckingham Palace.

You produced a very professional video detailing how you made something beautiful, and you made me laugh while I watched it. 10/10 would recommend. Awesome work, but, just to be absolutely correct - on her wedding day, though the Queen had offered to lend her one,Diana wore the Spencer Family tiara, she even wore it a few times as Princess of Wales. The Lovers Knot,is beautiful, but,to my mind not as beautiful as The Soencer Tiara. Kate looks beautiful in it,thank goodness that bulldog Camilla, hasn't worn it! She living proof with enough money one can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Keep doing what you do so very well. After the coronation - where the useless king will put a crown on his mistresses head - you might have a lovely project if Princess Charlotte wears her first coronet ot tiara,it will soon become the must have item for almost every little girl & more than a few little boys in the World. Very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏👌❤💯👋⭐💯✌

Wow. You have so much potential. I own a jewelry business and watching what you can do with just glue and wrapped wire is amazing. I suggest spending a few bucks and getting yourself a electric furnace to melt some silver scrap, a rolling mill and a pull plate and learn to silver solder jewelry and you can bring this to a whole new level. I'd hire you if you were Canadian, on the spot if you walked in with this and some of the other costume piece's you've made. Your attention to detail amazing and you're very meticulous. It wouldn't take much to make you an actual jeweler. I can only imagine the work you can come up with. If you're replicating royal crowns and tiara's with glue and wire you should be making it out of gold and silver. It's so easy to get into too. About CAD 1000.00 is a good starting point.

I came to youtube and typed in handmade tiara's and a ton of your video's popped up so I watched a bunch and found them to be very helpful and educational as well. I have to say I was blown away by how well thought out you had these things planned. I look forward to seeing more creative and inspiring tiara's and crowns in future video's. Keep this up, you're an amazing artist and have many hidden talents you should be exploring and playing with. Learn the basics of comment 1 and don't take any classes cause they'll only teach you to think inside the box. You have a creative mind, explore it. @@AustinDo

I never imagined tiaras could be made by "ordinary people" so I never tried to make any as an adult. After watching you make one I might just give it a try. I'll start on something a lot more simple than this one, lol. Thanks for the inspiration and instructions :) I'll be watching more of your videos.

You did an incredible job of recreating this Tara. For those who don't know the original was created to carry either the Pearl drops as worn by Catherine Princess of Wales, or with Emerald pear shaped drops. FYI: according to Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke the majority of tiaras have a band of fabric, usually velvet that closely matches the hair colour of the wearer, sewn to the base band of the tiara. This makes it more comfortable to the person wearing the tiara as most tiaras are weighty, hence uncomfortable to wear. In previous days of those who were wealthy enough to wear magnificent tiaras, they wear sewn into the hair of the wearer. No mention of how they are fixed in place in modern times. This tiara was claimed to be uncomfortable for Diana to wear and would cause headaches. I am wondering if she was ever knew or was told about how to correctly wear the tiara. Remembering she wore the Spenser Tiara on her wedding day. If Diana wasn't being fully supported as many accounts her life married to Charles indicates, it's possible she may not have been wearing it with the fabric band sewn to the base wire. This is only speculation on my part as there is nothing to indicate how Diana wore the Tiara. She didn't have her mother to fall back on for advice and it would only be speculation if her sisters ever advised her, Lady Jane and Lady Spencer. Annie Goldsmith wrote Not all lineages are created equal. While one might expect Prince Charles to be the ultimate in royal breeding, others are even better born. For one, his late wife. Princess Diana’s family, the house of Spencer, is a long-lasting British dynasty, reaching back to the 16th century. The Windsors, on the other hand, are of German descent, having adopted their current name only in 1917. Which is to say, Charles married up.

Oh my God, I got emotional when the whole crown was finally finished! That is a very excellent replica of one of the most iconic crowns ever. (I read somewhere Queen Elizabeth ordered to remove the emeralds because they made it too heavy, and restore back the pearls. But I don't like it this way).

Wow, where were you 6 years ago when my 2 year old Niece asked me to make her a crown for Christmas. It turned out, that's about all I can say. This is gorgeous and I loved Princess Di. Kudos! 😍👍

This video really gave me hope, since we have a late halloween party in our school and I thought of being Tiana, but this week I noticed I don’t have the crown (the party is in three days). I didn’t really want a crown that didn’t look like the one Tiana has, but I really don’t have enough time for anything to arrive if I were to order online. But your channel saved me. I’m not doing a crown that’s as complicated and detailed as yours, but I’m still doing a crown!! And even though it’s a simpler one, I know which materials to get and where I should get them from! Wish me luck😁
