How to make Proximity Sensor at home QUICKLY

*Breadboard
*photodiode
*IR led
*LM358 IC
*LED
*10k trimpot
*10k resistor
*100 ohm resistor
*330 ohm resistor
*wires
*9v battery
A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact.

I guess some is guess work as didnt hear specs on the pot or see it used to change distance of detection and the pin set-up on it.

the led is glowing continuously after the battery connection is given. and the potentiometer is not working to control the current

For the IR LED and Photodiode which goes into the positive terminal? Anode or cathode? And for the LED does the anode go to the negative terminal?

Jun Min for all three (IR led, IR reciever, LED )anode is negative and cathod is positive

GREENBANDS I connected it and the led won’t light up. Do I have to use a 330 ohm resistor?

Jun Min yes u have to. And this circuit will work if u power it with 9v battery. And just note in polaritied of photodiode and ir led are different. For IR led cathode is positive and for photo diode anode is positive. Just google pinout of the photodiode

I used 2mm transmitter and receiver in this circuit but it did not work. What amount of resistor should I use for it?

Tashrique Ahmed IR transmitter and IR reciever are diodes. U can use any value of resistor between 1k to 100k so that they doesn't shot

Tashrique Ahmed ohh then its not about resistors. Check the polarities of ir reciever and transmitter and the connections. It should work.
