I dint know how I've never seen your videos nervous. I just subscribed so I don't miss anymore. I've been wanting to make some boards but haven't had the kick in the 0ants I needed. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. I've wondered about sewing them...I'm just too lazy to dig out the glue gun. 😆 Thank you for sharing this. And also for suggesting the flannel.

Great idea the way you sewed yours! The cardboard is a great idea. Love it! Also love how you organized your boards. I am working on my first board. Also I keep a roller tape in my sewing room to roll over my cutting mat & blocks & even my carpet especially when my house is dry thread is hard to get the threads off of everything.

Thanks for a great demo! I'm going to try and make a few. I just got into quilting but haven't done "patterns" yet. I can see where this is helpful for arranging the fabric squares... sort of like a painting artists' board! 🙂

Genius! Now I’m looking for a huge box! Lol the ones you buy for so much money are actually the same thing I’m sure but they don’t fit very much. By the time I add my alphabets it’s filled up, lol. Thank you. Just need something to get from cutting table to sewing machine with all these tiny pieces. Like you said it doesn’t have to be that heavy. If it needed to be reinforced I’m sure two nice pieces of cardboard taped together with a good sturdy tape, it could hold up a 10 pound ham! Hungry cuz missed out on Thanksgiving last year cuz of pandemic. Yes, like your cheap out, don’t ever hear that much. Lol thanks again.

i use foarm core boards from the dollar tree with leftover pieces of batting instead of flannel. although I do have a massive bin of flannel that needs a use..

If you sew thru cardboard you might want to consider using 14g or 16g jean needles .... That was what we used when we sewed in a commercial shop on leather and other thick things.

Great use of Amazon boxes

Thanks for sharing this video. I tried the glue gun method and made a terrible mess! So I decided to try to sew the binding on just like I do my quilt binding (sew both sides) and voila! I also used white flannel, but used the foam board (cost $3.00 each from a dollar store).

New to your channel. Great tutorial. I've made these using different materials and a hot glue gun which I didn't like. Your method is so much better!!! Thank you so much

I made of several of these some years ago....I used box cardboard for the base, quilt batting scraps instead of the flannel, and ironing board fabric for the back side. I sewed the batting, ironing board fabric on 3 sides and slipped the cardboard in and closed of the. They work great for a light pressing if needed and have held up for years.

The binding fabric choice is perfect!!!

Somebody gave me a stack of blocks of flat packing foam I think I will use for this, but will have to iron well before binding on it, and then finger press onto it. Thanks a ton for the idea!

Can you use duct tape instead of fabric around the board? I have multiple rolls of cute duct tape left over from duct tape wallets the kids made ... I want to use the tape up.

Thank you for sharing!! I’ve got some allergies that act up with the smells that can come off of cardboard. Idk how long cardboard can smell b/c I can’t tolerate it (headaches). Do you have any alternates?

Stay away from UPS stores for boxes...They are ridiculous in prices. Walmart has boxes but Poster Board is better for these and a piece of batting then binding
