Here in the north of Borneo we sometimes use sweet glutinous rice. Rice wine is also drank straight from jars with a bamboo straw.

In Bengal and probably in Bangladesh too this is known as 'hariya' or the local calls it 'chullu'. It's one of the cheapest drink here and hariya is also used in catching fish.

Water just waters it down and makes it easier to drink. If you do not add water the wine is super strong that can easily knock your socks off. It is up to you which you prefer.

@@basma7663 It's okay to add sugar after fermentation but, really it is not necessary if you're drinking on day one. It will be sweet. But it get sour when you store it for 3/4 days!

My mom always made this in my village for free. 87-99 it's was free , after 2003 - 2008 per cup ₹10 . From 2010 ₹50 . In 2017 ₹100 per cup . I still know how to prepare this , thank for the video .

When you sealed it up on the first fermentation, do you put the lid on tightly or loosely. Only asking because in other methods of making wine, if you put the lid on tightly it explodes

Wow..that's the same methods making rice wine in my country, chhyang we call it 'Tapai' and that yeasts was a 'sasad' in my ethnic language.. We keep fermented it for one month to get more alcoholic taiste..

How about the measurement of yeast??? Does it matter with the rice??? And for example you only use 2 or 3 cups of rice.. after 6 days will you still add 2 litters of water??? Or will depend on the measurement of rice?? Gonna try it soon. Thanks! 😀

Thanks for your comment. Use approx. 20gm yeast for 250gm rice. Add water enough to completely drown all you rice yeast mixture.

I'm assuming you're talking about the final color. That's how it would be if we use rice. To make it clear, you'd have to follow distillation process of wine making which is a whole different process.

If u want a clear water (wine) boided it using pressure cooker put a hose in PCooker's lid/cover anf w8 for the moist and then put in the bottle.

Hichigo Madara You have to boil the rice wine.. the vapour from the boiling rice wine should be piped into a separate container... do not let the vapour out except through the pipe. Once the vapour becomes liquid, seal the container and wait for the liquid to cool. You can drink it then. This is more potent than undistilled rice wine, alcohol can be anywhere between 30%-40%

yes you can use it as long as yeast is alive but dormant. I would suggest to use the yeast for brewing to get a better taste. We've never tried using the fresh yeast therefore can say for sure.

TangSooDoArnis4Life yass. This is phytoplanctonic-sahi-ho-nuclearbomb yeast. It can typically be found in western tibet and lowlands of north korea where there is very less rainfall. Also , it tastes like heaven but burns like hell when you poop.

wine yeast is bred to obtain higher alcohol level than bread yeast means less CO2 gas. so if you are planning to make wine with bread yeast, you can but you'll sacrifice alcohol and flavor.

Great. I’m glad you got the result. And thanks for sharing. Don’t forget to store it in fridge for longer use. It get sweeter for 2/3 days then start turning bitter slowly.

@@usamaalhaj80 These rice wine will not have longer time because no preservatives are used to be able to store them for longer use. I think the max is a week after that it will start tasting bitter. I would keep in in refrigerator (no in defrost though). Let me know how it long were you able to get the sweet taste!

@@usamaalhaj80 If you want to try aging try pasteurising the full bottles before storing them. Pasteurising kills the yeast and bacteria in the bottles so it should preserve longer. Hell, after all you can buy Sake from stores, Rice wine should be able to be stored.

If you drink a lot yes you will. We've not measured the alcohol percentage but its pretty certain that it will more than in beer

ron rocks yass definitely. It's better than coke and lsd. There was a time once when i got so drunk of of this rice ko jaad that i literally started seeing donald duck and mickey mouse around me. Later on i realized that i was upside down inside an open drain pipe smelling that dope ass poop
