I learned to make salmon patties from my mom. Those little round bones are so soft that Mama would just mash them with a fork because she said they were good for us. I never even knew the bones were in there until I got older and she was showing me her technique.

I like corn meal on mine! Gives them a crispy crunch also . Love me some old bay and green peppers too!

Im watching the video that you're making the salmon patties with now, and it brings back so many memories of my mother. I'm sure salmon wasn't too pricey then because we were military and couldn't afford the real deal but nowadays I don't even know what salmon cost I'm sure it's expensive though. Those soft little bones are full of calcium and other great nutrients. Once mashed into the salmon you don’t even notice them. Don’t throw them out!

I do not remove the bones or the skin, it is not necessary

I tried just to see, using flour, didn’t like texture of the flour in the salmon.

No seasoning anywhere in this recipe. 😢
