Hint; when you trace around the outside of your soap mold to get the size of the mat just right, after you make your first lines, flip over the soap mold and measure the width of the side-rails, then double that to account for both sides, twice. So, the long and the short sides. Use a ruler to make a second line inside the first line, and cut inside that second line. It should fit perfectly! So in other words, if the side rails of your soap mold are 1/4 inch thick on all sides, you need to decrease the side cuts by a total of 1/2 inch each. But you don't have to cut all four sides. Simplify it by putting the added measurement ( 1/2 inch ) on one end, and ( 1/2 inch ) on one side. Two cuts, and you're done.

These mats work for melt and pour as well! Just make sure to spritz the details with alcohol before pouring the second layer so the layers stick together. You can also use an Injector Tool to fill in the details: www.brambleberry.com/Injector-Soap-Tool-P4660.aspx Learn more about melt and pour layers here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9Wpm5Rzy5mrqKM.html

Do you recommend not using the dividers for an impression mat soap? I have the 9 bar mold and dividers, just wondering if it would not work for some reason. I ask because you cut yours with a knife. Thanks for you wonderful videos...so much useful information!
@bramble-berry
@bramble-berry 7 жыл бұрын
We've tried this soap with dividers and did have some difficulties. We found it often messed with the impression mat design. It is also tricky to unmold the soap from the dividers and keep the design intact. You may want to try a small test batch with the dividers to see what you think. If you find it's not the look you're going for, you can leave them out. =)

pictures of great so pack that I don't know if it could work for this but it works with normal bars of soap use a brownie cutter which you put inside your mold before you pour the soap it so when you take it out you already have formed bars a brownie cutter is basically just a grid made out of knives you can find it at most baking stores

@bramble-berry 7 жыл бұрын
Because hot process soap is fairly thick, it may not fill in the mold details very well. It may help to spoon in some of your soap and press it down with a spatula. Then, layer in the rest of the soap. I would recommend making a small test batch to see how it goes! =)

Hello, I would like to make bar soaps for babies. Is it possible to make baby bar soap without a Lye ? because i have seen some baby bar soaps without seeing the name Sodium Hydroxide. Do you know any ingredient that can replace Sodium Hydroxide ? Also, my next question is, tell me if Sodium Hydroxide is suitable for baby's skin ?
