How do you suggest going about the build up on these type of tracks? Just minimal EQ sweep?

For the most part yes. You def don’t want a big room build up lol. You can even use endless smile in some cases. Just don’t go overboard with the intensity and look through the presets that fit best. Shoot, I can probably make a video on this too haha

What level should your kick and bass be on these type of tracks? I feel like my kick and bass is overpowered sometimes if I go above like -6.

I’ll eventually post a video on proper gain staging/mixing for low end. Though, you’re right, typically you want to start mixing at low volumes and work your way up. I typically throw a reference track I like into Span (free plug in) and start to match the frequencies there on a song that’s professionally mixed.

You can try reducing the release or length section in your drum/ channel rack on FL.

@@croco.nationI looked into it and you can use a transient shaper to get this effect. The KHS one is free.

I used an a tool/website called Fadr to separate the instruments and vocals. Though, it didn’t get me the best results. I also just get my vocals from Splice since I’m no Marco Antonio Solis and can’t sing 😅
