Adding tea to the cream is very clever! Tea adds such a depth of flavor to dishes. And Rooibos is for sure the right tea for strawberries. Earl Grey Chantilly cream with dark cherry shortcake would be delicious, too.

@@darrenchan9707 Sure! It’s kind of bitter and slightly earthy. It tastes a bit more herbal than black tea, but has a similar bitterness. It’s not my favorite tea, but it’s pretty good.

Ingredients CHANTILLY CREAM 1 ½ cups heavy cream 2 tablespoons loose-leaf Rooibos tea 3 tablespoons powdered sugar STRAWBERRIES 1 lb strawberry ¼ cup granulated sugar ½ teaspoon ground sumac ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt BISCUITS 3 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 ½ sticks unsalted european-style butter, frozen 1 ¼ cups buttermilk ¼ cup heavy cream ¼ cup turbinado sugar ¼ cup honey

Tasty's favorite biscuit could be called the golden biscuit because of how the turbinado sugar bakes into the biscuit and gives it a golden like color (the honey they add also emphasizes the golden like color)

One thing about I love about watching this channel is that they automatically put ingredients AND measurements so that you can make it at home. Could you guys and gals at Tasty PLEASE continue to provide both because I see ingredients but I don't see measurements anywhere😞 and I'm ready to get in the kitchen and make this bad boy!!🍰

Sumac is delicious and very versatile! It goes great with fruit because it's kind of tart, but it's also amazing in savory Middle Easter dishes. In fact, sumac is one of the spices in the spice blend za'atar.

@@BooBoo-pu1jh Sumac is available at most grocery stores, like Ralph's, but you could also order online. It's not too expensive, either, which is nice. As for za'atar, I have a quick recipe on my KZfaq channel for homemade, easy za'atar!

The butter on the biscuit is what makes it amazing…I had 1 in Maine. It was ahh amazing! The combo of butter with cream or ice cream and sweet strawberries, indescribable!

@@priscillajimenez27 I just used a regular homemade biscuit buttered with regular salted butter and it was just as good! I’m a butter freak, best butter I’ve had is Sams club brand! I’m sure that or any regular butter will do the trick and taste amazing with a regular home made biscuit. Hell, even a McDonald’s biscuit would probably do the trick! Lol

Our family’s homemade shortcake biscuits have a beaten egg stirred into the milk; about 1 egg for 3 C. flour (appx. 12 biscuits). (1/2 of a beaten egg works fine with lesser amts. of flour.)
