Golden Break depends on tournaments and rules, but creating a gap in the rack is illegal. For demonstration purposes though, this is interesting.

@@dere1048 hes saying, since the first of april of 2022 (which coincides with April fools for some reason), he potted 35, 8 balls from the break. Hes going for 100 by Christmas. 65 more 8 ball breaks in 5 month, and on average 13 a month

@@dere1048 an "8 ball break" is where the 8 ball is made from the break shot and wins the game, as the 8 ball is in the middle of the rack it should be one of (if not the) hardest ball to make on the break shot

One tip for people you can do is bridge hands in awkward situations. It's such a common thing that people struggle with and end up hitting the balls with their hands (inuding me sometimes)

Dope! I’ve been playing APA for 5 years now, I’ve only gotten six 8 On The Breaks during league play and I’ve been hitting the same spot on hundreds of racks. I just have back luck lol. It’s worth mentioning to people that I like to put draw right on the cue ball so it’ll come off the rack and hit the long rail and back into the balls potentially giving it a second chance to make the 8 ball.

@@goldendubai2130 u have half and full balls After the break u can pot anything you want exept for the 8. When you potted a ball u will have to pot all balls of the same group. (Ex. I pot a half ball then i have to continue potting all half balls). When you potted all your balls you have to pot the 8 ball. Foul shots: Hitting the opponents ball or the 8 ball first Dont hit anything Potting the white ball Hitting the white ball twice If your opponent makes a foul you get ball in hand what means you can place the ball anywhere on the table. How to win Pot every ball thats yours and then pot the 8 ball. The other pots the 8 ball before he has finished his balls. The other pots the 8 ball and the white ball at the same time

If the black ball is the first and only ball to go in the pocket then it is called a no contest and the black ball is put in the middle of the pool table and both of the players play on.

On a legal tight rack you break with a lot of top spin . The ball will hit the top ball of the rack and first spin backwards then will move forwards hitting the 8 ball . It will not work every time but does increase your odds .

It's a good practice to make sure the 8 ball DOES NOT ROLL as you push the rack tightly forward with fingers touching, pushinĝ all 5 back balls forward within the rack. Push forward and press them downward. If the 8 rolls you'll need to replace the balls around it, each with another. Also be aware the balls may be old, worn and refinished and not all equal in size. A few thoussndths of an inch in diameter can make a difference. This I know from shooting the game for 60 years now. I hope this helps. Gimme a thumb.

In Australia you can only shoot from within the D on the break line also our pockets are smaller therefore impossible. Best way is hit the left of the centre ball with right hand side and follow through

Typically your opponent or a referee will rack. So, with that in mind, to prevent what your opponent from making the 8 on the break, rack with the lead ball exactly where it belongs, then rotate the back of the rack about 1 degree. This is enough for the paths of the balls to not take their traditional routes but is not enough for your opponents to see what you've done.

What he doesn't tell you is, if you don't hit the second ball cleanly you have a high probability that you will scratch in the corner pocket. I have also seen a couple of players make the eight ball and then scratch a few times, which is an automatic loss. I think they were using low cue when it happened.

If no one sees you do it before you break, (not saying do it because I hate cheaters) but if you did and no one notices you do it then it's fair game. That's why you should always be 100% into your game. Not on your phone or talking to other players etc.

So weird! Since i was convinced that potting the 8 ball just meant you respotted it, i had a look online and its quite interesting. The World Pool Association has the respot (or rerack) rule but the APA (american) states you win instantly. The difference in rule enforcement is very strange. I also looked up the 9 ball rules and weirdly the golden break rule also is tournament dependant. Like shit, make it consistent

Not by rules used in most pro tournaments and most serious tournaments on regulation tables. In most serious rules you spot the 8 and keep shooting. That goes for BCA, WPA, CSI, BCAPL league, and USAPL league rules. You can look up all the rules online. In UPA, APA league, VNEA league, and casual unwritten bar rules, making the 8 is usually an automatic win, and of course any time you play on coin-op tables when spotting balls is not possible. But no, pro players don't do that. I've never seen it in the decades I've played some top players. I've come across some road players who will rack sloppy for you if given the chance. But rack-your-own is common and when it's not, the breaker will check the rack and never let you get away with that.

I won $496 off a break and run last night by doing this because I'd seen this video before! It was on a crappy bar table with cheap plastic racks, so I went to use my template rack to ensure all balls were touching. The other players started bitching and whining so I gave in and used the house rack but put this gap in it. Unfortunately for them it worked and I sunk the 8 on the break, which wins you the whole pot under their ruleset. Guess they should have kept their mouths shut bc that was very unlikely to occur with my template rack.

Years ago in the military this kid I had a feud with challenged me to a game of pool. I suck at pool. But whatever, I'll play. He racked...I broke...boom, 8 ball in the corner pocket somehow. He was FUMING. I just laughed, put the stick down and was like I win, you lose. Kept challenging me to another game but just walked away laughing. Was too legit.
