Basic transformer takes a long time to teach students... When it comes to making a transformer, many students feel like it is a difficult process that takes a long time to learn. The only thing is that this nut is just one single piece of iron, in a loop. Eddy current is probably high and you’re probably loosing almost 90% of the energy in heat because of eddy current and also due to that,another major power loss is that the coils are probably struggling to magnetise the nut (core) since it’s in a loop it probably emit a pretty huge opposing magnetic field

@@Handlebrake2 rebar is iron - any ferrous metal will work technically. But that's why you split the iron core. If he split the nut it would work better. The primary and secondary should be isolated and not physically touching. The transformation occurs via the magnetic field.

You can avoid kinking the thin wire by winding around a 1/4" dia shuttle and use that to pass the wire through the center of the nut. That's how I wind toroids with a hundred turns of wire.

If you want to make the transformer more efficient at least use multiple round washers next time.This is because to reduce eddy currents. That's why a transformer has many laminations for the core not just a solid soft iron core . But overall nice project!.

In order to reduce eddy currents and turn harmful "Back EMF" into beneficial, that's the solution to generate "Free Energy". Transformers work with coils of wire around an iron core. When electric current flows through the wire, it creates a magnetic field. This field then interacts with the current flowing through the other coil of wire, creating an electrical current. The transformer can increase or decrease the voltage of an electric current, depending on how the coils are wired. It has been said that the free energy devices are nothing but a hoax. But if you think about it, what is there to hoax about? The devices work, and people have been able to build them and get them to work. There are many ways that people have tried to achieve free energy, and all of them seem to be based on the same principles. These principles involve reducing eddy currents and turning harmful "back EMF" into beneficial EMF.

this video doesn't say something. what circuit you use to test it, what Vin, where are the measurements and the calculations. Don't try it. its not transformer but choke. make a electromagnet if you want but not this with a nut.....the "works" at the end doesn't convice me

Issues.. He is using Steel bolt.. which is ferromagnetic.. and to drive this so called transformer.. he is using ZVS Driver... With single bolt.. Induced Eddy currents in bolt will cause 98% of energy converted into heat... Same as How Induction heating works... Better to use pulse transformer cores to get better efficiency like 80-90%..
