Yes. I'd love to see a course on tuning using the tune bot. it seems everyone is still using drum dialers, and finding tune bot based instruction has turned up nothing for me. Something I've found about kick drum size is that a shorter depth helps control the low end of the drum a lot, I have a 22x16 pearl and a 22x20 (ridiculously deep) tama kick drum, and the pearl not only has a tighter low end, but is much easier to play faster double kick lines on. The tama still sounds ridiculously cool, the depth drops the frequency of the low end waaay down, so it's cool to use samples of on tracks that I only got a kick trigger signal to mix with.
@micahj9828
@micahj9828 3 жыл бұрын
My Ddrum has a 22x20 and just with a well tuned EMAD, the reso head tuned slightly looser than the batter, and a 6" mic hole... it sounds like post mix acoustically. You don't have to do anything to it other than take out some of the frequency bias of the mic. (All mics are biased to accentuate certain freqs. There's no such thing as a transparent mic.)
