Xbox connection improved so much my Xbox started hovering and vibrated until it opened a portal into the future. The new GTA 6 is mid btw. Thanks for the tip!

It actually did work my ms was 67 now it’s 41 and my wireless strength was at 88% now it’s at 96% no bs comment right here this video is valid Edit: since I changed these settings I can’t join parties it disconnects me from online games makes my Xbox useless all in all just get some money and buy a router or something

Sounds like your modem/Router may not support it. Qos is usually accepted across most networks but in rare cases (especially old hardware) it may not work

@Dhgdylan turn on unup on your router. It will do everything for you. If you can't find it or don't have it, look for a port forwarding guide online for your specific router. I forgot the website, but there is a site with thousands of guides, just search by letter. I'm sure you'll find it. BUT Unup is the better option as it will open and close things as needed

29mbps?!?! Jesus Christ 😳 *it’s basically 2024!* Are you running your Xbox using ur mobile hotspot or some s**t?! Or using a WiFi extender from *TEMU?!* If you aren’t playing with *at least* 4k 120hz, using ipv4 / ipv6, & *minimum* of *1Gbps - 1.2Gbps* (1000Mbps - 1200Mbps)… there's something *SERIOUSLY* wrong with your set up!! P.S. - Don't give me the whole, “My country doesn't support speeds that fast.” That's just a lazy excuse! Get a good *PAID* VPN (not some free malicious garbage like BetterVPN, EarthVPN, HolaVPN, Hotspot Shield, etc.) Your best bet is NordVPN, Surfshark, or ExpressVPN… I personally use Nord due to the vast amounts of additional features, speed, & specialty servers. If you want download & upload speeds that aren't a sluggish 300Mbps or w.e.. *Pay for NordVPN & add a Dedicated IP to your cart* (adding an Incogni subscription feature is also recommended but not necessary if you don't mind the fact that EACH & EVERYONE OF YOU has your private data being sold by data brokers/datasets to hackers on the dark/deep web as we speak). Take your dedicated IP address & set it as your static IP on your console. this will automatically boost your speed tremendously, but if you want to take it a step further… Go and buy your virtual server. Make sure you don’t cheap out & get some low-budget one, get an expensive one. Now input your dedicated IP onto your virtual server & *WAA BAM* You should be flying! now when it comes to your 120hz/refresh rate… there is nothing you can do about it besides investing in a high-end monitor/TV. *IF YOU LIVE IN THE U.S. & YOUR SPEEDS AREN’T HITTING 2Gbps, YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO REASSESS YOUR SETUP!* Oh yeah, & it would probably be helpful to inform your viewers that turning *both* DSCP & WMM QoS Tagging considering how WMM is *ONLY* for wireless connections. DSCP for both wire and wireless. If you’re running wired, using WMM does nothing but hurt you.

You are welcome to keep them on. The simple way of explaining what they do is: essentially, they tell your modem or router to deal with your xboxs data in priority over other things on your network, thus hopefully giving you a better connection.

@@belalhawadri9577 also cheack your router settings maybe found in advance settings. "QoS" (quality over service i think it stands for). Should have a setting for having your gaming console priority aswell. May help 🤷♂️

Try using ethernet if you aren't already. Make sure the unup is enabled and the proper ports are opened. Connect directly to your router/modem if possible instead of repeaters/routers down the line (this will give you a higher MTU, allowing you to send more data per packet). Usually, default is 1480 if you have no fancy configs. There is a lot more you can do, but remember, the simpler you keep it, the better.

What If you live in a house and can’t connect a Ethernet cable because you would have to drag a wire across the house. What’s the best wireless settings is I guess what I’m asking because I usually have good internet but today I have 28% packet loss even after restarting the modem

@exselice try connecting to your 2.4 network instead of the 5g one. Some times routers combine them, if that's the case, log into your router and have it do 2 separate SSID's

@exselice define separate ssids for 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks. 5g is fast, 2.4 is stable and long range. 2.4 will go thru brick walls, whereas 5g won't. If you only have one ssid chances are it's combined and your modem swamps you between them - which may drop your connection at times hence your packet loss. 2.4 is slower like I said, but it is probably your best bet.

the simplest way of explaining it - is it tells your Xbox to tell your router/modem that your important. therefore your network traffic will be dealt with in priority - which sometimes results in lower ping and higher download speeds/ better connectivity.

Wired is always the better option. I'm glad you were able to get everything sorted :) ps, remember to check both boxes. One is for wireless, one is for wired. You can leave them checked permanently it won't harm anything.

Thank you so much I got a new Xbox and was installing games they were going at 25-35 mbps because of my distance from my router and it jumped to 120-160 mbps ❤

The simple way to explain this - is by enabling these options you are sending an extra piece of data when your Xbox is communicating with your modem - essentially telling it to deal with you in priority order. this way, if lets say a family member is watching Netflix, but your trying to play maybe COD, or some other fast paced game - enabling this option could very easily solve any lag you may have had before due to the fact that your console is being dealt with before other connections even if that particular data reached it last. hope this clarifies things.

Along as your not on a connection that gets billed for data used you should be fine. Normal home internet you'll be fine, but a Hotspot I'd be careful.
