Would just like to say thank you! I'm almost 42yo, but my oldest child will be 6 in april. And it's truly astounding, and quite frankly infuriating, how little we were\are taught about our bodies and different options. I can admit to leading a fairly blind existence, tried to do good, recycle, don't litter... But was pretty ignorant to what was really happening (to our planet, with our government etc). Guess I'm sharing all of this to say thanks for giving me the information I need and should've gotten decades ago! And to anyone else out there who might be older, feeling like it's too late... For kids or even to just change behaviors. I'm here to tell you it's never too late and to never give up hope! I was told at 25yo I couldn't have kids, and didn't have a cycle for almost a decade. I delivered beautiful boys at almost 36yo and 39.5yo. They're now almost 6 and 2.5yo.

Just printed the measurement guide. I know I'm fairly low and tipped, but interested to know for sure. Tampons have always been uncomfortable (for shorter playtex, ob) and downright painful with tampax and other longer brands. I've been trying flex discs past 2 cycles and they aren't working very well and can get quite uncomfortable (assuming the rigid rim). It's been touch and go with a lot of leaks and slipping out of place. Any suggestions, tips, advice would be greatly appreciated! What are your thoughts on lumma? I see they have a bogo free offer.

@@DandiLoyalfoot I had my kids at 29, 31, 33, 35 and 38! And my body would have made plenty more had my hubby and I not taken it into our own hands 😬 Well I guess mine CAN still make more...just not with him 🤣 And don’t let a doctor tell you you’re high risk when you do have one. B/S. Had all mine at home in water at EVERY age! And I had a friend in her 40s do the same. A midwife won’t look at your age and classify you as high risk based on it.

@@aprils5881 awe thank you. This actually gave me hope. We have been saving for invitro and lately I've been feeling like 32 is too old to try and start a family. We are $1000 away from our goal and I was scared to keep going. This post, and the last one from Jocelyn, has changed my views.

Thank you for this video! Before venturing into using cups/disc, I was pretty clueless about my own body. The information provided here is easy to understand and non-intimidating for a newbie like me. I hope I can finally find a disc that give my body comfort during these dreadful periods.

@@PeriodNirvana odd questions, but if you do have a consenting partner, would the best measurement come from doing an almost pelvic exam level measurement? I have never used a cup before and I am nervous about measuring incorrectly. Is it better for us to measure using out fingers, or someone else's if it is safely available? I ask this also because I may be a lovely combo of high anteverted tilted Cervix/Uterus. I couldn't feel even the tip of my cervix by myself standing and I'm at the beginning of my cycle. Like what is the difference between sitting on a toilet/vs. standing for measuring?

I want to badly grab the Cora disc but I'm so scared that I have a high cervix w lil fingers that can't reach for the cup when I place em in there. I used to use cups but it was usually a painful process for me to place them in, and sometimes I'd leak throughout the day. My period's coming up so I will try my best w these short lil digits to measure!! Wish me luck :>

I have a super high cervix and small hands. It's like mining for coal in an abandoned cave. Tried so hard with this method and couldn't find it lol, maybe one day I'll find her but my hand and vagina are tried

So, I have a very low cervix, but I still use the Lumma Large. I tried the Lumma medium first because of the manufacturer recommendation, but found it incredibly painful because it twice actually got sucked up and tried sitting like a cup would with crazy strong suction that was very painful to break.

Can i ask you a question since i have low cervix too? I bought the smaller size cup, i tried to push it in but it doesn’t go further. I can see the bottom of the cup if I place a mirror under the vulva. Is this how it usually looks like for low cervix?

@@Irishgoddesss that's lower than mine sits. Are you able to see a pelvic floor physical therapist? This sounds like you perhaps have some prolapse issues going on

@@susannavaughan9193 No i dont have prolapse.i dont have any of those symptoms for prolapse. my cervix are low only on my periods. on normal days i wont be able to touch the cervix.

Measure your entire finger length and use that number to compare :) That is why the measuring is important since the "knuckle" measurement varies based on finger length lol

I have a high cervix, a light flow, and a petite frame. Kim Rosas has the best menstrual cup content around, but there is not much about having a high cervix. I would appreciate it very much if you could enlist another period expert with a high cervix (Kim has a low one) to give reviews. I feel like there must be more to it than just getting the tallest one around.

Hi Gina. I don't have a high cervix so my best advice is going to be based from experience of the many others I've helped find the right cup for them. As for video content I'm open to having others contribute with their experiences but since I've just started this endeavor it's me for now.

im no expert but ive definitely got this problem too! on my 6th cup looking for my goldilocks 😅 all the longer ones so far have also been too wide, or too firm, there seems to be a shortage in the market for those of us who are narrow, sensitive and have high cervixes - or at lease that's been my experience so far :)

@@justathumb could you tel me wat are the difference between low and high cervix. I just put it the first time and it had a long stem still it went all up, i culd feel a bone below and couldnt check if the cup was fit properly cos i dint hear the snap.

ok i measure while squatting/sitting and when i stand the measuring is wildly different --way higher than sitting position. which is the true height of the cervix?

Probably depends if you are more active or have a desk job for example. If your going to be sitting around wearing it get one that fits when you sit at your desk id think or if you are a post carrier get one that fits better on foot.

Ok so I measured mine even though my period isn’t on and it’s right at the opening so I barely even entered. I can’t imagine it getting any higher but I’ll try again when my period comes on. So far every cup I’ve used is extremely uncomfortable. I’m about to try Hello In size small but wondering do I need extra small? I’ve had 2 children it’s just the fact that the cups always make me feel like I have to pee or my muscles push it out🤷🏽‍♀️

I couldn't find my cervix 😭 but anyway got organicup A. But my pubic bone is so big that's what I feel, it is difficult to push the cup inside and check for the seal😭

How often can we check our cervix height? Is it okay to check it multiple times a day if we're unsure?

Sure. It's your body, you can check it however many times you want. It will also help you determine when your cervix is rising and dropping.

I tried Every positions the one leg up, squatting, supine etc. But even my little finger is not able to go fully in I tried during menstruation, it got a very little bit in not even upto first knuckle, and was obstructed by something fleshy What does that mean????🥺

You don't have to worry at all, that means you have a lower cervix(like me unfortunately) coz there are less options for us 😪

I have the ecoblossom small and I think I actually have a lowers cervix but my fingers r short and I can't feel my cervix. So I put the cup in as far as it will without causing pain or feeling like it won't go further and the stem sticks out which doesn't bother me cause it makes me feel like I can grab it easier. Once in it is pretty comfortable.. but as I wear it it goes higher and then when I try to get it out latter in the day it is hard to reach the stem even baring down ... HELP .. lol

Hello! Is it advisable to use the menstrual cup while you are having yeast infection or better use it when the infection has subsided. I need an answer please I am a bit desperate to know because I wanted to change into menstrual than pads because I keep having skin irritations. T.T

A menstrual cup should be perfectly fine to wear when you have a yeast infection as long as the cup is properly and regularly sterilized (i.e. boiling it).

Your cup is going to create a seal below the cervix so often the shape isn't a factor. Some people with a tilt feel like certain rims work better for them than others but I haven't discerned any specific trend... seems very much personal preference so far.

Well... Why is this thing so difficult... I mean I tried it for many time.. but didn't got anything except for failure.... I really wanna use cups.... But m scared.... Yes it does, for example I remember mine being huge when I had an infection. It would be twice as big as normal.

Am 16 year old teen I tried to find my cervix 6 times.... 4 times on dry days and 2 times one my 1st nd 2nd day of period.. I don't know why but i can't find my cervix... My fingers r long.. Clench your vag muscles a bit like you might do when you pee and swish your finger around a little. I disagree with the video that it feels like the "tip of the nose," mine feels like a little fingernail-sized donut ring and I sort of had to search for it a bit. Could have easily mistaken it for a random lump or something. You can also tell when you found it because you'll feel it from the cervix side.

Check every day. It can change height throughout your period. It pretty much has a mind of its own, hehe.

No need to check every day. Check the first and last day of your cycle and take the lowest measurement.
