I just don't understand how people think that she is wasting the lipsticks. Melting and pouring them into a palette doesn't waste them. She's not throwing those away, she's using them

Na, you get used to it. The tubes are inconvenient when you have to keep taking lids off to check for the right colour while you have a client sitting there waiting. This is much better for a working makeup artist.

+Megan Cherry Don't forget girls, I get discount so it's not as expensive, and I'm not ruining them. I'm a makeup artist, so I couldn't carry all those tubes around all the time, it's an inconvenience. This way I can see the colours I need straight away.

I have a few messy palettes whereby I just decanted them with a spatula. That's why I created this one, to switch things up and enjoy a smooth palette for a change. Haha...

This is such a great idea. You can see all your lipsticks. Also mixing colors is a lot of fun for me! so good if you are at the END of your lipsticks. I've done this and mixed chapstick and made a gloss/tinted lipstick.

Glad you found it helpful Hun! So much more convenient than constantly checking tubes. Plus once you empty 6 of the tubes, remember you can take them back to MAC for a free lippy!

Whenever using tealight candles, always remove the candle from its base first and add a teaspoon of water before putting the candle back in. This can prevent the wax from catching alight when burning lower. This is a terrific idea for when lipsticks have come near to their end and can only be used with a brush from its case. Melting the remains down and placing in a mould makes much more sense and more presentable. Not only can they now be used with a lip brush, yet mixed together to create new shades. A great way to prevent waste, as most would throw lipsticks away instead.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

hi, is there any difference with bullet lipstick and this? I want to melt one of my lipsticks like this and put it in a tube and apply with my fingers for natural result. or straight from the bullet and tabbing with my fingers on my lips would work the same?

Jessica If you listened to the tutorial you would understand. The lipsticks aren't ruined, how do you think they end up in the classic lipstick shape? They are melted into molds. I can't carry all those lipsticks around with me, it would not be practical. This method makes it easier for me, and it doesn't ruin the lipstick at all.

That was a sort of wave of deja vu...being a makeup junkie as long as I've been, I was a kitchen chemist with my makeup for decades. I don't do it anymore so much, but used to love to mix my own custom colors etc. Also mix lipsticks with clear glosses or vaseline and so on. Lots of fun! xoxoxo

Well it's still hot so you can just wipe it with tissue. If you happen to let it cool and the lipstick solidifies before you got to clean it, just use a little alcohol.

I would also do same for foundations too as it makes life alot easy and less time having to open up each product and sometimes you can misplace them and it can be a bother..so we'll done and keep showing more great ideas

how much does fit into the slots in this particular container? is looked like it's not the whole lipstick so do you know some bigger containers where you can melt the whole one? because if you are left with like half in the tupe, it still takes so much spaces. thank you for tutorial:)

this very helpful..sometimes i bought wrong lipstick colour bcos its doesnt suit my skin tone..so i usually mixed a lot of lipstick colour but its such a hassle when you want to fix it after eating and such..this give me idea that i can melt several colour and created my own colour lipstick and put it in a pod..thanks for the tips! ^^

I loved this video and its gave me some great ideas thank you so much for sharing this video with us, I am not brave enough to do it with my M.A.C lipsticks I have to say but all my others may be going In to home made palettes, brilliant idea thank you again I will have so much more room when I do this as my lipstick collection a loan is massive lol
