it's not necessary to do anything in music properly. each producer make their own decisions what to do with their sound. therefore any producer can do whatever he want to create his unique style. that is what the music is all about

i cant believe this. i literally got stuck on my bass and kick mixing yesterday and searched the internet for a good tutorial and I was sad you guys didn't have one. last time, I needed a vocal mixing tutorial, and u just released a vocal mixing tutorial chain literally the same day I ran into my issues. I've never felt more grateful haha

Something that’s helped me recently is using faster compression on kick and slower compression on bass or vice versa. But - Wow! The even vs odd harmonics, and other uses of Saturn blew my mind. I love the non-eq methods you showed (including dynamic eq and dynamic inverse) because they’re less destructive to the tone you might’ve worked hard to get while recording. It allows for less compromises needing to be made to get the bass and kick grooving together.

Great video with so many different options! Will definitely try a few of these out! I usually go mono using high pass on bass and low pass on kick, true there is no dynamics when doing it this way so can be tricky finding the right frequency but my music always sounds clear this way when adding the lead/build stems. Always good to have options though!:)

These consistant artificial kicks and basses are easy... Try bass guitars and real kick drums. That's where I have most trouble...

You can use trackspacer to sidechain a kick drum and bass guitar, it saves a lot of time on my work
